The fairies are in Professor Palladium's class, though, this time they are not in a classroom. They all stand outside in the forest area called Black-Mud Swamp. Many were glaring at the bugs that flew by them.
"So, as I was saying, today's exercise will be rather difficult." Palladium continued. "Professor Palladium, a mosquito just bit me!" A rather snobbish girl, Francine, called out.
"Oh the horror." Astra gasped with a laugh to Musa and Cameron.
"Do you take anything seriously?" Molly asked with a huff causing Astra to raise an amused eyebrow.
"Only when things are serious." Astra laughs. "I don't understand the question."
"Good lord." Molly sighs.
"Well, we are in a swamp, and it's just a mosquito. It's no big deal." Palladium brushed off. "But look where it got me!" Francine lifts one side of her shorts. Palladium, obviously nervous, backs away and stutters.
"Oh my! From- Well, um... what I meant was... uh... T-to be "shorts" and to uh eh... the point-" Palladium stutters as the rest of the class now laughs at their male teachers.
"Why would they do such a thing to their male teacher?!" Lily asked, appalled. The winx glanced at eachother, sharing a 'really?' look. "Lillian, I really think you should come over here-"
"What? Where it's safe?" Astra asked as Yin tried to calm down her bonded fairy. "Yeah, like I'm going to leave my family for you. Bro, I've known you for an hour."
"Poor professor. They shouldn't give him such a hard time." Bloom sighed. Astra raised an eyebrow.
"If he were more confident, he'd get more respect." Stella said with a matter of a fact tone.
"I hate to agree with Stella but she's right- just this once." Astra said as Stella grinned.
"A good fairy should be able to listen to what nature tells us. Today's exercise is designed to put your skills to the test. Now, you've all been put into groups, so we're ready to begin. You have three hours to get out of Black-Mud Swamp and reach the clearing in the middle of Gloomy-Wood Forest, without using magic. Remember, listen carefully to the voice of nature, and follow its advice." Palladium teleports and leaves the girls in the middle of the swamp. The six main fairies break off in their own little group, getting knee-deep in mud.
"This place is... ew... totally disgusting." Stella says with an obvious distaste.
"Oh, yes, dear. All this mud is so very inconvenient." Musa agreed. Astra groaning as mud gets in her shoes and all over her legs.
"Gross!" Many girls in the hall noted.
"I would never." Pansy Parkison gasped.
"Stella!" Musa gasped. "She's worse than you"
Stella just huffed in response. Tune however scrunched her nose up in disgust. A lady should always be clean and respectful.
"I suppose this is better than wearing my nice clothes." Astra said to herself as her clothes got all dirty.
"I don't know if you realize it, but we're knee-deep in what I would refer to as a problematic mud puddle. All right, you guys, take cover! I'll handle it." Tecna's hands begin to sparkle.
"No, Tecna, don't! We have to listen to nature. I smell something, what is it?" Bloom questioned.
"He said "listen," not smell." Stella huffed, taking in a breath. Astra held her hand up to her nose. Stella sniffs. "It kinda smells like..."
