ALLIE HAD announced that she would be running for mayor of the place they now called New Ham. Anyone could run for mayor and the debate would start at 5.
Gaia was not up to be any mayor or to be apart of the city council. She physically and mentally couldn't handle that. Not now not ever.
Gaia sat outside the church, people going back and forth to check to see who had signed up. She, on the other hand, watched as Noah played around in the grass.
She would visit and check in on Harry later, but for now. This would be her activity for today.
Gaia heard footsteps approaching her and saw Campbell coming towards her. He soon sat down next to her.
"I need a favor."
"What do you I owe you?"
"You don't own me anything." Campbell smiled, "I need you to make the mayor very happy."
"What are you talking about?"
"Harry. He's running for mayor."
Gaia's eyes widened in surprise, "Harry? For mayor?"
Campbell grinned, "Yep, he's throwing his hat in the ring. And he needs your expertise to help him get the votes he needs."
"That's ridiculous." Gaia scoffed, "Harry's not capable of running for mayor. Not now or ever."
Campbell leaned in close to her, a sly smile on his face, "Oh, I think you'll find a way to make it work." He said in a low voice, "After all, we wouldn't want anything to happen to little Noah, would we?"
"Are you threatening my son?" She hissed.
Campbell chuckled, "Just trying to make a point, Gaia. You don't want to mess with me. It's in your best interest to help Harry."
Gaia stood, rolling her eyes. Campbell followed behind and grabbed her arm, turning her around.
"It's in your best interest to help." He muttered.
"What are you going to do if I don't?" She asked, "Threatening my kid isn't going get you anywhere with me. You're a sadistic piece of shit. You want to help Harry? You'll do that shit all on your own."
