A holiday! [Sonadow] (discontinued)

Chapter 6

Sonic couldn't believe that he and Shadow were..  Dating? A couple?

It didn't matter. All that did, though, was spending time with one another, which was something both had barely done because of their activities and work throughout the day, but since it's a holiday now, they could take advantage of it.

But what was spending time? Doing activities together? Going on dates frequently?

For Sonic, spending time was giving undivided attention to his partner, and being together while doing so. And it involved being kind, caring and loving to the other, and making sure all their cravings, needs and wants were fulfilled. And of course being happy together.

For Shadow, though, it was just to be with the other, showering them with frequent compliments and loving words, whispering sweet nothings to each other while being united at heart no matter where they were.

Of course, none of them were too paranoid about it. Fights happen often and it's a normal thing in relationships.

They weren't going to fight today, though.

It was still a sunny afternoon, it wasn't as hot as they thought it'd be but they appreciated the nice weather today. Both were taking a relaxing stroll in the large field that were currently filled with many others who were also strolling and a few that rushed down for lunch.

"Heya, Tails!" Sonic waved enthusiastically upon seeing his best friend come down from the stairs with Cream and Vanilla.

Tails smiled and waved back, looking at the blue hedgehog and the other next to him. His smile faded slightly but was still kept when he looked at Shadow, feeling suspicions growing in his mind after seeing the two having their hands intertwined.

He broke it off his mind when he heard Cream calling for him, asking where he wanted to sit in the restaurant. He rushed next to Cream and walked with Vanilla.

"Nice breeze, ay?" Sonic beamed as he squeezed Shadow's hand, feeling his heart pounding restlessly against his ribs, as if it was restricted.

God, did that feeling make him so warm.

Shadow blinked slowly as he smiled, feeling the breeze hit his face gently while he was ignoring the frequent pings from his phone, "Hm, yeah."

They were in bed, asleep. There was nothing to do, anyways. Activities will be held tomorrow and today was a free day.

It was quiet and calm, and they could barely hear any noise.

Until they heard a crash.

Sonic was the first to wake up, he went to the balcony to see what was going on and he saw a few more robots. He groaned groggily as he watched the other wake up, rubbing his eyes slowly as he absentmindedly murmured inaudible sentences.

"We're under attack," Sonic informed Shadow as he rushed out the room and down to the field again.

Amy was already onto it, her hands mercilessly swinging onto the robots.

Sonic analyzed the round and small robot — mainly blue, white strip at the middle and long metal hands that could stretch out. Its legs were short and, like the hands, could stretch out.

It looked like an easy one to him. He spindashed it as hard as he could and when he hopped back, he furrowed his brows just to see it have a dent at the top. He decided to land a good old kick on it. He fell to his side as he used to hands to prop him up, and swinged his legs underneath the robot's metal legs and after it fell, he laid a few punches on it, attacked it with multiple attacks and it finally shut down.

Amy dealt with it with just a few seemingly effortless punches and some hammering here and there. For once, Sonic envied the pink hedgehog of her strength.

He saw Rouge landing her powerful kicks on the robots and finished them off in just a few minutes and he smiled.

Sonic saw Tails asking if he could take the robot from Rouge's hands and explained that he wanted to examine it. Rouge nodded and gave it to him with a small smile.

Tails took it, only to realize that it had a lot of holes in it and said he couldn't work with it.

"Hey, buddy! I've got one here for ya! It just has a few dents in it," Sonic waved at the twin tailed fox with a friendky smile.

Tails rushed over to him and picked the robot up, smiling as he said, "Thanks!" He rushed back upstairs as fast as his little legs could go.

Sonic yelled, "Great work, I guess! Thanks for contributing before I did!" He smiled brightly, showing thumbs up to Amy and Rouge, and a friendly smirk to Knuckles who stood and watched from behind.

Sonic whispered to himself immediately after, "Now, I've got to get back to Shadow," He rushed back upstairs just to see Shadow still blinking in the bed and ruffling his quills as if he just woke up.

"Heey, Shads," Sonic sat next to Shadow and to his surprise, Shadow fell back and after shifting positions a little, he fell back asleep in peace, knowing that Sonic got back.

"At least you're back," Shadow muttered as he pulled the sheets back up to his chest and smiled a little.

Sonic smiled at the sight, he dialed up Tails, "Hey, bud. Any new discoveries?" He asked lightheartedly, "Has Nicky geeked out to you before?"

Tails was a little confused by the question, "Um, yeah! He's a huge fan of stuff I like! Like, uh, engineering and Science and all that! He's a nerd, too," He smiled, "And yeah. New discoveries found. There isn't a coding thing either, much like R-3. This one is called, ehh... A-2."

"Something, A, R, something..?" Sonic joked and smiled as he ran his fingers gently through his sleeping partner's messy and morning-like quills.

"C'mon, Sonic. Be serious! Our main goal is to find out who made this and.. why, I guess?" Tails complained, metal clanging and drilling came his speaker, making Sonic flinch.

"Hey, you know that is pretty loud, right?" Sonic chuckled, pulling Shadow closer to him as he tickled Shadow's neck, making the other hum quietly.

Tails rolled his eyes, "It's not my fault. Turn your volume down," He narrowed his eyes as he looked down at the robot, as if there was a small passage written there, "52314?"

Sonic blinked as he looked at the screen and pulled back a bit when Tails brought the robot to the camera, showing him the passage.

"52314?" Sonic questioned, his fingers carressing Shadow's neck again, dragging it down slowly.

Tails blinked as he pulled the robot back, "Yeah. Is it the order?" He leaned back into his chair and went out of shot, but Sonic could tell that Tails was tugging at his hair out of frustration.

"Hey, buddy. Cheer up! You'll find it out soon. Just.. Take a break, yeah?" Sonic smiled as Tails looked to the camera.

Tails smiled softly and nodded, "Yeah, I should probably do that.."

"Yeah, go ahead, man. Have a good rest!" Sonic smiled as he hung up.

He set his phone to the side and sighed when Shadow turned over and shifted up close to his chest, "You wanna sleep like this? It's uncomfortable for me," He smiled and joked and chuckled when Shadow sat up groggily, "I'm not.. Sleepy," Came the absentminded reply.

"Sure, you aren't, Shads. C'mon, now," He ushered Shadow into a more comfortable sleeping position next to him, and pressed a soft kiss onto his forehead, and made the other squirm and blush, "Go to sleep. We both deserve it."

"I'm not.." Shadow muttered as he tried to get out of the grasp, "Sleepy.. Mmhgh.." He shuffled closer to the blue one and sighed quietly, "Whatever. G'night.."

"It's not night, but okay."
