Jacob stood, grabbing Alaina up with him to break the silence. "The packs will fight." He said. "We've never been afraid of vampires."

The Denali coven rose. "We will fight." Said Carman.

"This won't be the first time I fought a king's rule." Said Garret, stepping forward.

"We'll join you." Said Benjamin.

"No." Amun said, worried.

"I will do the right thing, Amun." Benjamin said. "You may do as you please."

     Bella stood up between Alaina and Jacob.

"We will stand with you." Said Senna, speaking for her and Zafrina.

"So will we." Stood Siobhan, from the Irish coven.

     Peter and Charlotte, from the Mexican Coven, stood and nodded, as well as the whole room.

"That didn't take much." Vladimir told Stefan, though everyone heard.

"Let's hope it doesn't come to that." Edward said.

"We'll see." Alistair mumbled to Carlisle. Alistair was the one who wasn't a people person, and swore he wasn't fighting against the Volturi if it came to it. He walked out, and everyone stared as he did.

     The fear still flooded over the vampires as they soon knew they'd have to face the Volturi. The twins scared them the most. Jane and Alec ability was over powering, hurt the most.

"Aro will want us incapacitated before he attacks." Edward told them. "Jane and Alec will try and take me out first because I can anticipate their moves."

"Too bad we don't all have your shield." Garret told Bella.

"Doesn't help me fight, though." Bella said.

"No, but it can help the rest of us, if you could project it." Said Tanya.

"What do you mean?" Bella asked.

"I mean shield someone other than yourself." Tanya said.

"Is that possible?" Alaina said.

"Gifts can be developed." Said Carlisle. "Over time."

"At first, mine was just in my palms." Kate said. "Now I can radiate it all over my body."

"How do you do it?" Bella said desperately. Kate sighed, trying to find the words, when Bella gripped her hand. "Tell me."

"Ow." Kate said. "I mean, I can try to teach you."

     Alaina stood outside to watch Bella learn her ability, while others gathered around to watch.

"You need to visualize it." Kate said. "See how it moves. What color it is." She said, watching Bella close her eyes. "Now picture it expanding. Will it to go beyond you."

     Bella focused hard. There was a blurry new energy which expanded beyond Bella, as she was told, but it didn't go far until Bella stopped.

"Maybe she needs something to motivate her." Kate said.

     Edward, reading Kates thoughts, shifted to look at Kate, taking his hand from his pocket.

"No." Bella said.

"It's all right. I can take it." Edward said.

"He says that now." Garret said, standing beside Emmet and Alaina.

"Focus, Bella," Emmet said, "or he's gonna be hurting."

"Edward, I'm not ready to do this yet." Bella said as Kates hand was inches away from Edwards. Edward grunted as the electricity soured throughout his body, making him fall to the ground. "I'm sorry. I said that I wasn't ready." Bella said.
