Hey guys! I wanna talk about something from The Lego Movie and The Lego Movie 2:The Second part! Emmet is a manchild. Emmet is 22 in the first movie according to a draft in the script(which makes him 27 in the sequel after the five year time skip. Do the math. I did!)And yet he is naive, not very bright, loves rainbows, "awesome" things, gets excited upon seeing a falling star and he is friends with a plant he calls "Planty". Justified, as he is an Author Avatar of a little boy. Finn. Emmet is the representation of Finn as a child. Emmet represents Finn's childhood innocence and imagination. As such, Emmet is kinda like the living embodiement of childlike innocence. As such, he is childlike, naive, innocent, pure, precious, cute, adorable, endearing, nice, sweet, kind, optimistic, positive, cheerful, happy, sunny, peppy, upbeat, happy-go-lucky, hapless, perky, comically silly, and very friendly. In the first movie, Finn was a cute, adorable, talented, creative, sweet, and imaginative kid who believed that everyone is special. But during the five year time skip in the second movie, his friends probably abandoned him, which is what Emmet trying to rescue his friends, crashing into an asteroid, ending up Undar Of The Dryar System,(LOL. I'm sorry, just the name is LOL)and his friends not coming back for him and him being abandoned is meant to symbolize Finn's friends abandoning him. This led to the birth of Rex. Rex represents Finn's teenage desire to be seen as cool and "edgy". Along with the frustration, annoyance, and irritation that everytime Finn rebuilt his sets, whatever colorful, bright, shiny, cute, poppy, or young thing catches Finn's little sister's Bianca's eye, she takes it and takes it up to her room and probably used it for the Systar System, Finn created a post apocalyptic setting, Apocalypsburg, made out of grim and gritty stuff so Bianca won't take it. Emmet is the only one who hasn't changed. It's probably because Emmet represents Finn's inner child. Finn's past self. The way he used to be. Emmet wanting to rebuild the future and make everything awesome again is probably a representation of Finn's inner child wanting Finn to be his old self again. And later in the movie when Lucy said to Emmet 'I like you the way you were. Sweet, innocent, kind.' is a representation of how Finn's family-Finn's dad, Finn's mom, and Finn's sister Bianca-misses Finn the way he was before:Sweet, innocent, kind. Later in the movie when Rex fades from existance, it's a representation of Finn abandoning his dark and edgy self and getting back his light and soft self...I think that's all I have to say...Welp! Byeeeeeeeeeeeeeee~!
