Daughter of Willy Wonka

-Please. I just.. I gotta find her- Jennie pleaded to an old man employee behind the counter. She showed him the receipt she had found last night, tucked inside the glove.

-I've been here, three years, so this is...- said the old man, but Jennie overlaps and talk over the old man's voice

-Yeah, I understand. But your computer... Your computer system has been here for a long time.

-I think, you're just wasting my time, miss.

-No, no, no. Here's the thing.

-There's nothing I can do-

-It's very crucial, you see- Jennie moved to the side, almost inside of the counter

The old man put his hands up front, stopping Jennie

-You cannot come over to this side of the counter. Please don't cross this line.- the man points down to the line on the floor, driving Jennie back up, back to her original position.

-I understand-

-Thank you-

-Were off to a bad start here- said the old man blowing a short quick air through his nose

-But sir, all I need is this, If you could just enter this account number in the computer and just tell me her name. Just the name- Jennie explains carefully and said the words clearly in case the old man could not hear her properly

-Oh, I see.- the old man nods slowly. Jennie smiled to the thought of the old man gets what she meant

-When you put it that way.... NO!- the old man said, with the emphasis of the last word. Jennie rolled her eyes with exasperation

-All right.- Jennie took out her wallet

-Would 20 bucks help?- Jennie took out 20, the old man eyes grew wide

He clears his throat before he answer

-It might if I was a health inspector

-Listen, please. This is really important.- Jennie moved again to the side, crossing the line, she's almost beside the old man

-Oh!! Boy!!! You did it again. Crossed the line. You crossed the line- the old man's voice mimicking a busted computer program. Annoying and loud. So loud it gathers other people's attention

Jennie moved back quickly to her original spot. Her lips pressed together, trying to calm herself down.

-You have to remain on the other side of the register, I don't wanna say it again. Remain on that side. Thank you- the old man's voice gets louder and louder, and every time he opens his mouth, more and more people are looking at their direction, and its getting more and more embarrassing for Jennie.

-Let's bottom-line this, huh? What's it gonna take?- Jennie is desperate now. The only thing she wants was just to know the name, and this old man is playing hard to get, making it real hard and challenging for Jennie that she is starting to get really pissed and frustrated.

-I really have to have the name. please, sir

The old man seemed to think. He look at Jennie straight in her eyes, to know if the girl really wants it desperately. Then the old man, leaned closer to Jennie, as if he was about to whisper.

-Well, I was a little short on my weekly sales draw.- He raised his eyebrows

-Were you?

-I'm just mentioning
