Love in time of Cholera

A few years later

- Usually, I have to beg to beg to be part of weddings. And if I don't get into the wedding, of course they've postponed it and it's overseas somewhere, and they've cancelled my passport and I cant be a part of it, and it's ridiculous and all for naught, it's horrible. really... really. - Lisa was standing up, in her suit, which she insisted that she would wear for tonight's special dinner. She was standing up proudly, in front of a long table filled with guests, as she gave her speech, and people were loving it, as they laugh and clapped for her

-Well, thank you. thank you. I take this very very seriously. It's a gift to be the best man. well in my case the best woman. yes, yes, I know. and I do well acknowledge it that I'm the best woman Jennie has ever had, in her life. - Lisa stopped for a second, and let out a sigh, then continued her speech

- They say that once in your lifetime, someone comes along whom, you're absolutely meant to be with. You know, everything feels great, stars are aligned, body and spirit are in balance. For my friend, my best friend Jennie Kim, that person... was me-  everyone burst out laughing

- But as you know, Nini and I were simpatico, we're practically twins, sisters from another mother, she's my bro and I am hers. We were friends since high school. I watched her go out with man after man, woman after woman, and she'd always. always come crawling.. back to me. Yes, she would come crawling back to me. It was embarrassing.

-Oh baby, but you loved it - said Jennie as she wipes the tears in her eyes, from laughing so hard

- But then one night she came home and things were different. Her adolescent dream of becoming a document filmmaker, was a thing in the past.

-Thank God - said Jennie's dad, Jennie just looked at him, smiling sadly

- He hardly even responded to my playful yet tormenting flicks of my finger against the soft part of the skull, as she studied for finals and that is because she had found her. The woman he was meant to be with. And if anyone is qualified to know when she met her soul mate, it would be me, her first wife. - then again, everybody was laughing, crying happy tears

-She's smart, she's funny, she's beautiful. In short she's the kind of woman that anybody would dream about, and I think we all have. So it is with sadness and fond, fond memories that I raise my glass to the new Mrs. Jennie Kim - Lisa raised her glass and points to Jennie, who is smiling looking back at her too.

Everybody in that long table, raised their glasses, a couple of aww and hear hear can be heard. Lisa is always proud of Jennie, always have been and she is much proud of her now, as she embarks a new stage of her life. Lisa and Jennie goes way back, just like Lisa said they were practically twins. Jennie won't let Lisa do things on her own, may it be the most stupidest idea ever or not, everything, they gotta do it together, and so as Lisa to Jennie.

Jennie then, took her glass and raised it to Lisa, she smiled so dearly as she felt Lisa's genuine happiness for her. A hand with a huge diamond cut ring on her finger, slipped on Jennie's nape, slowly massaging it, Jennie then looks to the side, and gave her sweetest smile, as the woman leaned closer and puts a small kiss on Jennie's cheek

-I'll tell you what- Lisa continued, raising her voice a little more louder to get the attention of the guests back to her

-I'll tell you what, I'll tell you something. My friends, If I had to lose Nini to anyone, I cant imagine a more perfect woman than Nayeon.

-To Nayeon- says their other guests

-Cheers to the both of you- says the old couple, who sat beside Nayeon, as she smiles and nods, to everyone who greets them. Her hand still on the back of Jennie's head, giving gentle smooth massages. Jennie then leaned in for a kiss, Nayeon did pulled Jennie closer, meeting her half way, as they share a sweet kiss, that made everyone cheered.
