Live Long.
Elina read the quote that was in contrast with its surrounding. The hospital.
She was waiting outside the doctor's cabin for her turn.
Her fingers were continuously shaking.
Her throat was dry but she wasn't thirsty.
She was nervous.

It was a bright Sunday yesterday. Her son Noah, merely four years old was playing joyfully in the park. Elina watched her little ball of joy building a castle of sand and trying to get inside it.
She chuckled at his cute attempt. She watched him play while sitting on a bench nearby wondering what profession will he choose when he grows up.
Maybe an Architect.Elina was busy in her thoughts. When she noticed Noah holding his head with his little hands in attempt to console his pain.
She had seen him doing this maybe ten times a day. Obviously she took him to a child specialist, but nothing dangerous was found. 'Nothing came out in tests. Maybe he bumped his head somewhere while playing. You know he is very flickering.' Elina recalled his doctor's words.
But something was odd. Her heart wasn't ready to believe its just a mere injury.
'What if he is in pain and here I am brushing off his condition. What if-' she felt pathetic for even thinking of something inevitable.
She got up to get her child before concluding to meet a neurologist next day.-----------------------------------------------------------------
"Are the files from the new building project ready?" David asked on the phone while signing some documents with his free hand. It was his hectic schedule as usual.
Well, he himself chose it."The files are still not ready for signing. You know those motherfuckers are not agreeing over some conditions." The person on the opposite side hissed lowly.
"I see you have been drinking at professional hours too" David asked noticing a fumble in the person's voice.
"Don't bring that up buddy. Me drinking at any hour will not affect your clients or projects. I will transfer those files once its ready" he mockingly stated as if trying to say 'I know you worry more for your company' which David understood effortlessly.
David just hummed in response before cutting the line.
Beep.
He looked up at the clock '2:37 a.m'
So its not professional hour by now.
He felt a little bad for calling his coalition company's chief at this hour for work.
Jake is a provider of raw materials for his company and a Friend. He felt tired but he wasn't exhausted.
He wanted to go home. But only if that was possible. He gets up from his chair before grabbing some papers to finish at his rented flat. Being an insomniac it was normal for him to not get a proper sleep but he thinks its good.
After all he gets more time to work and cope with reality. He was never like this. There was a time when he was in love with his life. The life he was blessed to have. But his demons took over the angels.
He can buy a mansion with all the money he has but how will he buy a 'home'.He took his phone out to text someone.
'I want to meet him'
Although he knew the answer was a 'No' he still tried. He has been feeling differently for God knows what reason.-----------------------------------------------------------------
"Mrs. Rhodes" the receptionist called out her name for the appointment.
Emily stood up to get inside the cabin.
"May I-"
"Please come" the doctor said cutting her words.
A weird feeling of dis ease could be felt in the cabin. She situated herself in front of the lady neurologist with a confused look on her face."Where were you all these days?" The doctor asked not looking up from the papers.
"Huh." Emily eyes roamed to the papers and then to the doctor.
"You look a responsible young lady. How can you be so careless?" The doctor finally looked at her.
"What do you mean?" She asked confused.
Her throat dryer than ever."Look Mrs. Rhodes, I want you to listen carefully. Your son is sick. Its not that he bumped his head somewhere-"
"Then what is it?" Emily asked impatiently cutting her off."He has brain tumor. I believe if you were a little late he couldn't be saved. Its been months since he has been suffering from this. You should have been more careful."
What?
Emily could not process what she just heard. A heavy wave of disagreement was lingering in her mind. 'This can't be' how can she be so careless. Her son was suffering from all this and she was watching. How can life be so cruel to her. Again."This can't be" she whispered. Her vision became blurry from the tears that soon rolled down her checks.
"Mrs. Rhodes, there is no time to think of what happened or what could have happened. We have to perform a surgery as soon as possible. We can definitely save him" She assured.
A mere mention of hope.
"Ma'am they are calling you on floor 9" the receptionist announced.
The doctor stood up before patting lightly on her shoulder.
"Think about it and tell me before 5:00 p.m" She told looking at her wrist watch before heading off. What was there to think. Emily knew as hell, she would do anything for her child.
.
.
."Excuse me" Emily said lowly to the receptionist.
"I want to book for a room from tomorrow morning.""Okay ma'am. Can you tell the name of the patient" the receptionist asked not looking up from the monitor.
"Noah Rhodes"
