ALTHOUGH WINTER, It was a beautiful sunny day. The sun shone brightly through the windows of the cafe as Jack and I entered a cozy and inviting space filled with warm lighting and comfortable furnishings.

It's walls were adorned with art that added to its charm, while the menu offered delectable treats like coffee or tea, cakes and pastries.

The atmosphere of the cafe was peaceful yet stimulating as people engaged in interesting conversations around the tables, soft music playing in the background adding to the ambiance.

Eventually Jack and I found a good spot to sit at. I put my things down on the wooden chairs and heading up to the counter.

I turned to jack. "I'm gonna go to the restroom, you order first." I nodded and approached a young women who looked to be at around the same age as me.

She had a striking beauty with long, blonde hair and piercing green eyes. You would think she was model because of how effortlessly pretty she was. But I quickly learned that her attitude did not reflect her looks. At all.

"Hi uh, can I have a cappuccino, and a tiramisu."
"Sure, is that all?" The barista replied brusquely.
I nodded, trying to dismiss her attitude with a bad day.

"Great." she said Putting on a fake smile. Before I could say anything I felt a presence behind me.

The once rude girl turned into a completely opposite person. "Can I have a name with that." The barista said in an almost sickeningly sweet way. "Juliette." I replied. Unphased by the sudden mood change.

"Your total is gonna be $10.45, wait at the counter to receive your order." The barista said, smiling as she looked behind me.

I rolled my eyes annoyed at the encounter as I found my way back to jack and i's table.

About 5 to 10 minutes passed and Jack had picked up our orders. "Check this out Julie, the barista wrote her number on my coffee cup."

I pretended to look interested or at least happy for Jack, because he certainly did.

Though the reality was I felt a pinch of pain in my heart.

We quickly changed the subject, noting the awkwardness that was left in the air after I had dismissed his comment.

For the next half hour we talked about all of our favorite memories, sharing laughs and having a great time, this quickly making me forget the blonde barista eyeing me from across the room.

Soon after finishing our coffees, we decided to take a walk along the boardwalk together.

The sun was shining brightly in the sky, its rays warming our skin as we took in the salty sea breeze. I closed my eyes breathing it in, feeling the waves of nostalgia hitting me.

There were plenty of people around enjoying the beautiful day on the beach, eating ice cream and playing carnival games soaking up the scenery.

Jack and I took a stroll down to the pier, side by side, watching boats drift by and admiring the panorama of colorful umbrellas lined along its edge.

As we approached our final destination, settling down for a picnic lunch. I sat on the sand as jack started to lay out our beach blanket. I took a moment to take in the scenery, the colors of the sky swirled together with the sound of waves crashing creating an unforgettable memory. We spent the rest of our picnic sharing snacks, drinks, and laughs.
