Gideon closed his eyes, feeling noises and the heartbeat. He smiled, loving the feeling. Sage is sleeping beside him, they sneaked into Thommy's pantry room and stole the hash brownies. They only ate one, but he could feel it doing its magic. He smoked a bong once and decided not to do it ever again. He crashed his father's car last year when he smoked a bong with his friends and cousins.
He never wanted to fuck his mind like that day. But when Sage insisted he have one, he couldn't say no. That too before Sage. They might not be fighting now, but once they are back in school. She might use this and tease him. So he ate one and he didn't feel anything for the first hour.
Sage insisted that they eat dinner early. They had their dinner talking with Bernard and Thommy. Before, they bid good nights and went upstairs to Sage's room. Now he understood why Sage insisted on eating early.
He started feeling the changes and how his mind was making stories in his mind. They fell on the bed and closed their eyes just enjoying the things that were happening in their mind and body.
"Sage."
"Hmm?"
"Can I ask you something?"
"Hmm."
"What makes you happy?"
"Happy? Hmm, summer makes me happy. Staying here for a long week, Carnivals, Christmas gifts and lights, ice skating and..." Gideon turned his head to see Sage when she went silent. He observed that her cheeks were turning red.
"And Sage?" Why didn't he know his voice became low and rumbling?
He knew Sage was thinking about something as she started playing with her fingers and Gideon was dying to know what she was thinking about.
"And everything. There's no reason to be sad about anything. It happens anyway and accepting and being happy is my motto."
Gideon hummed but didn't push it. "What about you?"
"Good movies, books, cafes and cakes." Sage chuckled upon hearing that.
"Gideon, your secrets will be safe with me. Come on, give me a proper answer." Gideon smiled. "Will they be safe?"
"You have my word." Gideon took his time, fighting in his head whether to spill it out or not.
"Hmm, I'm happy when my family is home. When I go ice skiing with my sister, knowing my parents are watching us. I get excited when my dad takes me to his shooting spot or when I get to sit in the front at my mum's fashion show."
"No sex?" Sage asked, and Gideon laughed out loud. Sage turned to his side to face Gideon. Gideon looked at Sage as she turned to his side. He did the same, facing Sage as they looked at each other.
"No, Sage. I thought you, being my enemy, would know everything about me." Gideon teased.
Sage rolled her eyes. "Everyone has a personal life, Gideon. I ain't my business to poke in."
"Hmm, I stay away from girls, Sage."
Sage knew that Gideon was never involved with any girl. Even if he was partnered with them, he just maintained a normal level of talking. They only have good things to talk about Gideon."
"You've never been in any relationship?" Sage asked.
"What do you think? We go to the same school, Sage. You could've known this." Sage smiled thinking about it. She knew Gideon wasn't in any relationship. For some reason, he never caused trouble and stayed away from anything.
