Sage looked at the messages and a sigh left her mouth. Florie, who was sitting beside her, glanced up. "Everything's okay, Baker?""Yeah, it's my mum. She is coming to the city next weekend."
"You are going to meet?"
"No idea." Florie's brows frowned in confusion. "Why wouldn't you meet her? It's been a while since you met her, isn't it?"
"Yeah, but she is coming to the city with her family. They are attending some function and I'm not sure if she would be able to meet me in between."
Florie flinched, knowing too well. Florie gave a sad smile and Sage shrugged her shoulders. "It's fine, though. I will be spending my next summer at hers."
"Really?"
"Hmm." Sage looked at the boys who were leaving the building. They were sitting in the common reading area. Sage is kind of tutoring Florie in the mornings before the classes. Florie is picking up and she is loving the time she has to spend with Sage. Florie always adored Sage. Florie has got nothing to worry about when she is with Sage, unlike Indigo and Aria.
Florie was always aware when she was with Indigo and Aria, even though they were good friends with her. Indigo, being genius and academically gifted, scared Florie. When Florie couldn't answer some of the formulas, Indigo would give her an 'are you dumb look' which scared Florie.
Aria, being the golden girl of their school and campus, made Florie uncomfortable because she was unconscious and not sure of her looks. Don't get her wrong, she loves Aria but it just scares her. But Sage made Florie calm her down, even though Sage was the social butterfly and the most outgoing girl, she understood Florie's insecurities and never made fun of them.
Sage was always motivated to open up to herself if she wasn't comfortable with sharing with others. Sage didn't give her a dirty look when Florie mentioned her fears. Sage told her that everyone has fears and insecurities and that it is okay to have them as we are in our teenage.
Sage solely believes that it's okay to have insecurities and fears. That's what makes them feel all the aspects of life and teaches them to overcome them. Sage always tells herself and others around her that it's okay to make mistakes, as we all grow up from those mistakes and know the lessons earlier rather than in our late twenties or in mid-twenties.
"Hey, Sage."
"Hmm?"
"Can I ask you something?" Florie bites down on her lower lip.
"Yes, darling."
"Hmm, I'm seeing this guy but I'm not sure if I should go on a date with him..." Sage chuckled and stopped writing. "Why would you stop yourself from going on a date, babe? If you wanna go for it, then go for it..."
"Yeah... But I just went out on a date with Jacob last month." Florie's eyes gave out the fear of judgment. She is scared about the gossip and judgemental looks she would be getting.
"Babe, you went on a date... That's it, you weren't in a relationship with Jacob. You see, there's nothing wrong with going on dates. The sole purpose or meaning of a date is getting to know someone." Sage looked at Florie.
"You went out with Jacob to get to know him but when you got to know him outside our school campus, it didn't work out for you two. Jacob is chill about it and is already looking for someone else."
"You have nothing to worry about if you ask me. Go on dates as much as possible. Get to know different people and know their opinions before you find one."
