I had a dream last night
Where the fabric on your sweater
Soothed my pain
My arm around your shoulder
Once such a comfort,
Reminded me of what I've lost
I'm drowning in memories
That I can't bare to see
Because they are tainted
With words you said to me
My dream ended quite suddenly
"Can I call you back?"
You uttered to me
And I waited
For ring
For a sign
Until my phone buzzed me awake
And all I could hope for
Was the sight of your face
But alas, you weren't there
Now exists the mere thought
"Which one of us still cares?"
