Blush (Teresa and Dylan)
-Teresa-
I heard what was going on. We have to go. I have somewhere to go. Some of them have somewhere to go. Dylan does not. I can't let him be stranded. I don't know. I've kind of grown fond of him. It didn't feel right to leave him.
I walked up to his door and knocked. I stepped back when it opened a crack. Dylan peeked through the crack.
"Yeah?" he asked.
"We need to talk," I said. "Can I come in?" There was a pause. Dylan backed up into his house. I followed him inside.
He and I sat at his kitchen table. Dylan must not be sleeping so well. Those bags under his eyes gave it away. His eyes were wide as he stared at me. He tugged at his sleeves.
"What do you want?" he asked. My heart started to ache.
"Are you all right?" I asked. He just stared at me. Right... That was a stupid question. I sat back in my chair.
"I'm going back to the floating base," I said. Dylan didn't look disappointed.
"Oh," he said.
"I want you to come with me," I said. He stared up at me.
"Huh?" he asked.
"I'm not supposed to say this but the forest is going to eat up the islands."
Dylan stared at me with big eyes. "What?" I broke down everything for him. He didn't say a word. His eyes looked so big as I kept talking. I breathed out when I was finished.
"Will you come with me?" I asked at last.
"I... I don't understand," he said.
"Understand what?" I asked.
"Why me?" Dylan asked. I about frowned at him.
"I like you," I said. He didn't respond at first. His eyes shifted away from mine. I wasn't going to give up on him.

-Dylan-
I don't know what to think. I mean, Teresa was cool and all. I just don't understand what she sees in me. She could have any guy that she wanted. (There wasn't much to choose from around here.) Now she wanted me to leave with her.
"I... I don't know what to think!" I blurted out. I got up and ran out of the kitchen.
"Dylan!" Teresa said. I heard her running after me. I made it to the stairs.
"Hey!" she said. She grabbed my shoulder. I whirled around. Teresa stared at me.
"I really like you," she said. "I really do." She leaned in and tried to kiss me. I pulled back.
"But why?" I asked. Teresa stared at me. It didn't sound like she was joking. But I still couldn't understand it. I leaned in and kissed her on the lips. She kissed me back. I don't know. It just happened. Honestly, I don't know how I feel about her. Teresa has been really nice to me. She was there when I was down. Sure, the others were there too. But somehow, it was always Teresa. I still couldn't figure her out.
She slowly pulled away from me. We stood there, saying nothing. My cheeks felt hot. Um... Uh...
Teresa kissed me again. This time, I didn't push her off. I ended up leading her up to my room. How many times have I done this? I've lost count at this point. I'm almost numb to it.

I've been in Dylan's room many times. It looks like a typical boy's room. It could've used a little cleaning. Dirty clothes were piled on the floor. Star Wars, Death Cab for Cutie, Monty Python, Jaws, and Mad Max posters covered his walls. Dylan kept his computer and desk across the room. He mostly keeps the lights off. I walked over to the window. I started to reach forward to open the blinds.
"Don't!" he shouted. I turned my head. Dylan stood in the doorway. He closed the door behind him. We didn't speak at first. I walked over and sat down on the bed. We seemed to be waiting for the other to make the next move. Dylan walked over and sat down next to me.
"What now?" he asked.
"With what?" I asked. "Leaving or this moment?" Dylan shrugged.
"Both, I guess," he said.
"Heh," I said. He reached over and took my hand. I held his back.
"If we do leave, can we have sex again?" Dylan asked.
"Sure," I said.
"Thanks," he said. We just sat there on his bed andsaid nothing. We were going to be leaving real soon.
