"Will You Marry Me?" (Sarah x Elisa)

"PLAY BALL!"

The champions were excitedly fixated on the baseball game that unfolded before them. Someone had decided to challenge Sakura, so all of them had decided to support their fellow champion.
Tyrone sat by Tommy. Tommy had a loving arm around Eva, who sat next to Sarah, who sat next to Elisa.
Sarah held Elisa's hand as she watched Sakura strike a poor batter out. She felt a subtle tension in the air. In her pocket was a box.

A box that contained a ring.

Today was the day that Sarah would finally ask her teammate and the love of her life to marry her. They'd be the first couple of the champions to do so, since she knew Tommy and Eva hadn't discussed marriage yet. That was, unless Tommy popped the question and set the wedding before Sarah's.
Sarah didn't want to think about that. She didn't even want to think of what would happen if Elisa said no.
Of course she'd say yes. The relationship took a long time to blossom into the passionate romance that it was now, given Elisa's previous abusive relationship, but they had discussed it. She felt ready.

Sakura switched from pitching to batting as the other team incurred their third out. Lucía happily munches on a hot dog as she keeps her eyes on Sarah and Elisa. The other champions knew what would happen today- especially Sakura.
Sakura hit a home run, which, of course, brought out cheers from the audience. Elisa turns to Sarah with a smile. "That's our girl! She's going to win. There's NO doubt."
Lucía nodded excitedly. "Who in their right mind decides to challenge her, anyway? Ooo! Nick's up to bat!"
Sarah was too nervous to focus on the game, but got the memo that Sakura scored. "That's Sakura for you," She shrugs and puts an arm around Elisa. Elisa leans into Sarah's touch. "Aww, babe. You're so affectionate today."
Sarah chuckled. "Yeah. Focus on the game, Elisa."
Sarah knew that after this inning, the time would come. She was getting increasingly more nervous.
Anna, who sat behind her, gently pats Sarah's shoulder in reassurance.

Sarah felt a bit better after that.

Sakura's team incurred their third out, and switched sides again. The plan was going into action.
Sakura was not to be seen on the pitcher's mound. Instead of the announcer, Sakura's voice came over the stands.

"Ladies and gentlemen! Baseball champion Sakura here. Before we start this inning, I'd like to give a shout out to my friends and fellow champions real quick- Sarah Hardy and Elisa Parker!"
The jumbotron camera focused on them. Elisa's eyes widened, unsure why she was the center of attention at this moment.

Sakura continued. "These lovely ladies have been together for a while! One of the best couples I've seen. And today, I've been tasked with using the few short minutes I have between innings to help Sarah over here. You know, in the red hoodie."
Sarah stood up next to Elisa. Elisa stood up as well, confused.
"Well, Sarah?" Sakura announced again. "Pop the question already!"
Pop the question? Elisa couldn't process the thought before the sight of Sarah bending onto one knee beheld her. Elisa's expression became one of shock, and she held both her hands up to her mouth.

Sarah smiled, taking the box out of her pocket. She opened it, presenting a beautiful diamond ring to Elisa.
"Elisa, I can't begin to describe how much I love you. You're beautiful, you're strong, you're determined, and you're just so, so amazing. I can't think of anyone else I want to spend the rest of my life with. Elisa Lynn Parker, will you make me the happiest woman in the world and marry me?"
The other champions could hear Sarah's monologue; the rest of the stadium held their breath as they waited to see Elisa's answer.
Elisa was visibly crying with happiness. She held out her left hand, beginning to sob as she nodded, saying, "Yes! Yes I will!"
The stadium erupted in cheers. Sarah smiled, relieved and overjoyed. She takes the ring out of the box, slipping it onto Elisa's left ring finger. She then stands up, pulling her now fiancee into a passionate, loving kiss, pulling back once air was exhausted. Elisa was so, so happy. "Oh Sarah! I can't wait to be your wife." She wipes her remaining tears.
Sarah smiled. "Neither can I, my love."

My job here is done. Sakura smiled as she went up to the pitcher's mound.

The game ended as expected, with Sakura and her team winning by a landslide. She met the other champions outside.
"Congratulations!" Sakura grins from ear to ear as she finds Sarah and Elisa.
Sarah smiled at Sakura. "Thanks for your help. I appreciate it."
"No problem! I wonder if Tommy will enlist some help when he proposes to Eva," Sakura said with a chuckle.
Elisa kept close to Sarah, not wanting to be apart from her.

She was finally going to marry the love of her life.
