Keiko finally got to the training center. She shifts her bag and heads inside.
A while back, she befriended Pit, the interim boxing champion, and he invited her to train with him every day, as he saw a lot of potential in her to be a good boxer.
Room 14… she remembered which room Pit reserved for his training sessions.
She knocks on the door.
"Who is it?" Came a deep, German voice.
"Keiko Midoria!" She replied.
The door opened to reveal Pit. He cracks a smile. "Keiko! I've been waiting for you. Come in, come in."Keiko smiles and walks in the door. She took her gloves out of her bag.
Pit smiled. "I was thinking we'd go at it today. I'll go easy on you, I promise. But considering everyone else I asked to box you is busy, I guess I'll have to do it."
Keiko nodded. "Alright then!" She was excited to actually fight someone, even if it was just for practice.
The two stepped into the boxing ring.
"Alrighty, Keiko. Remember what I taught you." Pit raised his fists. "Let's go."
Pit did keep his promise on lowering his skill level for Keiko. Despite that, Keiko felt challenged landing punches on Pit.
Pit, of course, punched back. Despite this being a practice session, he wanted Keiko to know what a real match felt like.He took a swing a tad too hard, socking Keiko right in the face. Her eyes rolled into the back of her head and she went down.
"Keiko!!" Pit exclaimed.
He ran, kneeling down by her, shaking her as the referee would a downed opponent. "Keiko! Keiko, can you hear me?!" He yelled, hoping to rouse her.
There was no response from Keiko. She almost looked dead, if it wasn't for the fact she was still breathing.
"Sheiße!!" He exclaimed, realizing what he had done. He'd gone too hard, and now she was knocked out.
Pit felt absolutely terrible about it. He didn't mean to go so hard on her when he knew she couldn't handle it.
He was glad it was early enough in the morning, and that his house was close enough that he could get her home to rest. He gently picked her up and took her to his home.
Pit set her down on his bed, putting an ice pack on where he had punched her too hard. That was all he could do for now.
He went into the kitchen to prepare some food for her, driven by guilt.A few hours later, Keiko woke up. She flinched a bit, startled, as she realized she was in an unfamiliar place.
What the hell happened? I was just boxing Pit… she thought to herself, looking around the room. She saw boxing awards and newspaper clippings with Pits pictures on them.
I must be at Pit's house. She realized. The last thing I remember was him taking a swing at me…
Her head was pounding. She heard footsteps and turned her head to the noise.
Pit appeared with a bowl of soup. "Oh thank Maka Wuhu, you're awake. Holy shit." He sets the soup on the nightstand and knelt at the bedside. "Keiko. I am SO SORRY. So fucking sorry. I swung too hard and knocked you out." He was on the verge of tears.
Keiko took the now-melted ice pack off of her face. "It's okay, Pit. Accidents happen."
Pit used a tissue to wipe his tears. "It's not, Keiko. I should have gotten someone easier for you."
Keiko just looks at him. "Pit, there's nothing to feel guilty about. Shit happens. And I enjoyed the challenge."
Pit was mostly reassured by her words of forgiveness, though he still felt terrible. "I made you some chicken noodle soup. Are you in pain? I have ibuprofen. If you need to stay the night, I'll sleep on the couch."
"Ibuprofen sounds nice…" She held her head.
Pit produced a glass of water and two Advils for her. She took those.
"Here. Eat some soup." Pit hands her the bowl. Keiko slowly ate the soup. "This is super good, Pit," She said as she ate.
"Danke. It's my mothers recipe," Pit replied with a smile.
Keiko finished the soup, putting it on the nightstand.
"Do you need anything else, Keiko?" Pit asked.
Keiko shook her head. She really likes this soft, caring side of Pit. It made her blush, almost.
Pit was glad that Keiko forgave him. Especially being close like this.
"I'm glad. Do you feel ready to go home?"
"I guess. It would be more polite than taking up your bed," Keiko replied.
"Alright." Pit took his car keys out of his pocket.
Keiko got up, albeit a bit wobbly. Pit instinctively put an arm around her to support her. "Easy there."
They both blushed from the physical contact, but Keiko knew she'd need the support to get into his car."Alright, what's your address?" Pit asked as he started the electric engine.
"1415 Palm Boulevard. The white house, first on the left," She said, leaning back her seat.
Pit put the address into his navigation system and began to drive. Keiko zoned out until Pit slammed on his brakes and began yelling in German. She had no idea what he was saying so aggressively, but by Maka Wuhu, it was making her blush. Was she seriously getting the hots for Pit right now?!
Pit sighed. "Sorry about that. That asshole ran a red light."
"It's ok," She half-mumbled.5 minutes later, Keiko recognized her home as Pit pulled into the driveway.
He gets out of the car and opens the door for her, helping her out. Keiko manages to unlock the front door of her house.
Pit saw the living room immediately and helped her onto the couch. He puts her bag next to her.
"Are you sure you're good?" He asked again.
"I'm sure. Thank you, Pit," Keiko said as she nodded.
Pit nods. "You have my number. Please don't hesitate to call if you need anything else from me, okay? Well set up another training session once you feel better."
He left the house, closing the door.
I'm just glad she forgave me, he thought. She's too kind. And beautiful. Oh Pit, stop. Just because she's a girl… oh, Dammit. Maybe you can ask her out later.
Keiko was too tired to think too much more aside from, The things I'd do to get this kind of intimacy from him again.
