*Bella's point of view*Lunch was always an absolute nightmare. I wouldn't be shocked if Alice and Edward had made more friends, and would've already had a table to sit at when lunch arrived. I might end up at a table by myself or a bathroom stall. Arriving to the cafeteria, I wondered what I should even eat. I only have exactly $2.00 no change, no nothing. I was fascinated by the way the clouds looked along with the faint wall of humid fog sprayed across the windows, it almost looked as if the world had a tint of grey to it. By the blink of an eye my little pixie friend and her brother were by my side. 'Copper collector' the familiar name made me slightly giggle. "Where are you sitting Alice.?" I whispered trying to not make my approach noticeable, "where do you want to sit?" She replied, her warm smile made me return one as well. "You wan't to sit by me?" I let out a breath through my nose I wasn't aware I was holding. "Are there even any open tables?" I questioned. I had no idea why they hadn't decided to sit by other people. Maybe they should ignore my existence too, "i don't know, Edward do you see any open tables?" Alice nudged her brother in the side signaling him to look for one. "Hm? Oh. uh— yeah one over to the middle left, in front of the window."
*Edwards point of view.*
"Bella, It's our turn. What do you want to eat?" She asked as Bella slowly reacted reaching into her pocket for what looked to be about $2.00 I'm not sure. "I'll just have a coke." She replied dryly. 'That's a Little weird.' Stopping my thoughts for a moment, the other voice took over. 'for fucks sake Edward, Get your head out of the damn gutter, not every person in the world eats a lot of food.' Mentally scolding myself was always interesting, I felt bad for being so judge like. Slowly nudging myself in the cafeteria line I could see my short sibling look at me. "Dissociating from reality again, are we?" Alice stated and smirked. "It's your turn." 'Shit' I can be very stupid. I could see Bella in my peripherals to the side of me and in between both me, and my sister. Almost like she was hiding, I had only noticed just now how she had such pretty eyes, and a heart shaped face, eyes of chocolate, pinkish purple dark circles barley there, and she was extremely pale. She always wore a headband too, separating hair away from others. She was short too, I loved the way pink spread across her face, it was fascinating in a way, although it's weird to say because I've only met her today. I feel as if I've known her our entire lives. Maybe, we met in a past life. 'The way the stars aligned with the sky, put us in a way where we cannot reply.' I loved that poem, it always brought peace to my mind. Though, it did remind me of someone, But I will never speak of that person again. Sitting down at the lunch table it had five seats in order across the cold sphere. Bella sat on the left of Alice as I sat on the right.
"So, Bella, what's been on your mind recently?" Alice spoke gently.
"I don't really know, I guess it's just always been like this." She responded but her voice had a mix of shyness and monotone.
"Uhm." Trying to fix the mood just a little I'd thought I'd ask a question just to try and talk to Bella more. "I'm in Calculous right now, but I'm a little far behind from where my last school was, can one of you help me?" Her eyes shot up, 'perfect.' "If you don't mine me helping you, I'm in calculus also. If you don't care about me asking you— uh, would you want my number so I can help you?" She went beet red, she's kind've awkward. "Yeah that's fine." I smiled and she shot one back; fast. If I glanced away for a second I wouldn't have seen it at all.
"Okay great." We made eye contact.
"Would you rather write it down?" Our eyes bringing connection once again as she stared into my soul. Deep inside, I was nervous for this. I felt fear, but a good type of fear.
"Yeah, we can do that next hour, uhm speaking of next hour I have no lab partner, so you might end up being mine." Bella rambled, "Im honestly okay at biology, I mean my grade says so either way. And since we are ahead of your old school I could help you with that too." She smiled to herself, I noticed that every time we talk she's usually looking at the floor or my eyes. "OH! And— Edward, Alice, since we all have phys Ed together I thought I should mention that I suck at PE more than anything." She mentioned something I'm not surprised at, she seems to shy away from things that involve attention. "That's fine, if we get put into teams I'll just join with you and Allie. Im not gonna leave you by yourself, that would just be mean." I replied, I wouldn't mind having her on my team at all.
*6th hour; Bella's point of view.*
For the first time in my entire existence school was actually going well for once, I felt, happy. I can tell this year won't be as bad as I thought,
Both Edward and Alice walked with me to 6th hour, Alice detached from us and walked to the room across the hall. As we filed into seats my biology teacher
Mr. Molina, assigned Edward right next to me. While Molina was teaching I slipped Edward my number incase he needed help, by the time the bell rang I had my stuff together fast, I don't know why though. It was a uncontrollable body response. As soon as seventh hour was over I was upset that I had to go home, for once In my life I was upset about going home. Walking out of the door Edward ran to me, "Bella! Wait, do— do you remember what the homework was for Mr. Molina's class?" I smiled at him, and nodded."Call me later, and I'll help you." I responded, and by the time he could do anything else I was in my truck, driving towards my house.
*Edwards point of view.*
'This is Bella, Right?'
the message popped on my screen from the second I sent it; there was a reply.'Yeah, what was it in Mr. Molina's class you needed help with?
'The homework, I don't really know what we're talking about.'
'He said it in front of the class?'
'I was distracted the whole hour.'
'By what?'
'Nothing you need to know yet.'
'Oh. okay, so then would you want to call me? It helps to explain it easier.'
'Yeah that's fine.'
My hearts racing, I'd never called a girl before. What would i say? Though, we are talking about school so it shouldn't be so hard. "Hey!" She answered so quickly I almost didn't realize it answered, "hey, did you finish it?" I replied hoping it's a no so we can talk more. "Yeah I did." 'Shit.' "So what question are you on?" She asked, "don't make fun of me, question one." I giggled a little bit about that. She laughed a bit too.
Talking to her wasn't so bad after all.
