Father called the small council the next morning. Thankfully daemon didn't do that damned heir for the day toast. I can practically feel disappointment of otto. He probably expected daemon to pull off some stunt so he can finally make Father exile him. Well unfortunately for him from now on I will make sure none of his plan won't work.
"I have called this meeting today to solve the succession crisis that we are facing now. I have decided officially name rhaenyra targaryen as my heir and princesses of dragonstone."
At this every single council members looked at daemon expecting for a violent reaction. But their jaw dropped on seeing a smug smile on daemons face. I couldn't help but smirk at that.
"Another announcement I have to make is that I hereby anull the marriage of prince daemon targaryen to lady rhea Royce of runestone considering the marriage haven't been consummated and hence it is not valid in the eyes of gods and men. Prince daemon is hereby bethroed to princess rhaenyra. They are to wed once the princess turns 17 and he will be her king consort once rhaenyra ascends the throne."
All this time I was watching the hightower's face. The first happy look turned to shock then to anger then to fear. He looked like he will have a mental breakdown any second. Me and daemon shared a look at that.
"Your grace.."
"NO you have asked me to name a heir and I did and I won't hear any arguments on it. This decision is final. Am I clear."
Murmers of yes your grace was heard .

"Lord Hobart Hightower Lord of the Old Town, defender of citadel and beacon of South." Grandmaestar mellos announced.
"I Lord Hobart Hightower Lord of oldtown defender of citadel and beacon of South promise to be faithful to king viserys targaryen and his named heir princesses rhaenyra targaryen."
It went on like this until every Lord swore their fealty to me just like last time. But unlike last time daemon was with me. Now I have to see who all will keep their oath and who all I have to buy their loyalty.
