Aliyah's pov
It's been hours since my last incident. Ahsoka has not left my side once in those few hours. This girl even followed me in the bathroom. And it took five minutes to convince her to at least turn around! To say she was worried about me would be the understatement of the millennia. She was practically prancing at my heel, occasionally even going as far to step on the back heel of my boots when I slowed down. Whenever she did I would stop to look back at her wearing my emotions clearly on my face for her to see my annoyance. She just smiled back. Eventually I couldn't take it anymore and ran away when she wasn't expecting it onto a speeder. I programmed it to take me to the school house just before she could barely lay her pointer finger on the railing. The speeder zoomed away without her. I sighed and smiled with relief at the serenity I got from just being alone. A this from behind me made every happy thing I was feeling leave my body and fly away like I wanted to do right now. If only I had one of those Mandalorian jet packs I've heard so much about. I did t even have to turn to know it was Ahsoka. I side eyed her as she let out a roughly forced exhale as she pulled adjusted her crop top with extra caution. We made sure to look at each other with our own types of irritation while the other was looking away pretending not to see."I don't need a mother you know. Asalyn says they aren't good for anything."
"Mother!? Try friend." Ahsoka didn't want to make me talk about it anymore than what she thought was a completely irrelevant answer to her line of questioning about my nightly incidents. The first one I had was far worse than what I experienced last night, but while I'm in the nightmare all I've previously experienced is forgotten. Asalyn was there for the first one, she said she went through what I did when she was about my age because of her years of experiencing abuse. So the council issued her planned doses of sleeping pills for her. She said she took slightly more than the recommended amount and doesn't recommend it. So she had Stitch work with her friend from the other squad work with a different medic soldier named Tech and they created a modified version of the sleeping pill. It basically knocks you unconscious for eight hours, unless you are stimulated awake physically by an outside force. It was perfect for me. Only problem was Axel didn't know about it, and he never clarified how long this mission will last. Well I had a new mission, to get this mission over with as soon as possible so I can sleep peacefully again.
"I do appreciate your friendship, just not your smothering." The hurt of my last statement before we arrived wounded her deeply. She didn't walk on my heel after we exited our speeder anymore. Now Ahsoka opted to drag behind.
"Ma'am! Mi- Miss Caddel!" I turned to my left to see ginger boy fly by Ahsoka and run straight towards me. For a flicker of a second I heard the faintest of chuckling from the same Besalisk who haunted my dreams. Now he was trying to break my reality and it was working. I flinched away from the boy who came closer to my side than what seemed appropriate for a teacher and a student even if the age gap between us was nonexistent.
"Yes, Korkie?" I asked ginger boy.
"Are you alright? You seem jumpy today." I wanted to tell him what happened last night so he'd stop thinking I was crazy but I didn't have the energy or mental capacity to relive or share it all yet. Maybe when I got back to Master Asalyn, but not right now to a random boy I just met yesterday.
"Yes, I'm quite alright. Did you complete the homework assignment?" I tried my best to make small talk so it wouldn't be awkward. We were so close to the entrance. Just a little bit farther.
"Uh, no." I scoffed at the bluntness yet slight hesitation.
"No? Well at least your honest. What kept you from it?" I waved my key card to the passcode guarded school entrance Duchess Satine left me on the dresser and the door opened wide to let us both in.
