Adelaine's perspective
It was September 1st which meant it was going to be the day I started at a new school, Hogwarts school of witchcraft and Wizardry. I was hoping that I would be able to have a fresh start and actually meet people enjoyable or that wouldn't put me into the shadow of anyone. I had hope.
I had been alone in England for the last 24 hours, I could have absolutely snuck off but I didn't want to, I loved learning and advancing in my craft. I arrived around 30 minutes before we were expecting the train to Hogwarts so I just found a bench to sit on and grabbed out my journal to jot my goals for this semester down.
I decided to also write about how I was feeling today and generally how I felt starting at a new school after how my year at the french school, Beauxbatons ended last school year. Which brought me into thinking back on how it ended.
"I am extremely disappointed in you Ms. Delacour. Your sister would never do anything like this." My now ex-headmistress, Madame Maxime sighed.
I grinned, " Please, all I did was hex a few quills." giggling about my success in making the entire exam hall's quills write the same thing 'Beauxbatons more like boobs, a ton.' Which brought up a mix of reactions, from confusion, disgust, or just pure laughter.
admittedly it wasn't my best work, the phrase was not to par with how I usually work but I had no other ideas at the time and I recalled something I heard a 4th year say once early in the school year.
"This is not a laughing matter young lady." My mother spoke from my side. She rushed to the school the minute she found out I had caused another scene.
"I would have liked to believe you would have taken your second chance more seriously. I'm sorry Adelaine but I am going to have to expel you for your lack of respect for this school that's faculty has tried their best to give you a chance to redeem yourself." Maxime spoke, she seemed genuinely upset.
"I apologize for disappointing you although I don't apologize for my humor. I know I don't fit in this school, and I needed to find a way to get out of it. This was my best bet." I can't say I didn't feel bad but I also can't say that my little stunt wasn't pretty great too.
I only wanted out of the school because I was constantly in my elder sister's shadow. I adored Fleur but I couldn't bare being compared to her at every choice I made. Of course, I was similar to her, but I wasn't going to be a carbon copy of her.
I didn't really have friends at the school anyways, I just focused on my studies and kept to myself until I brought my schemes to life.
My reminiscences were cut short by the sound of a train approaching, it was certainly an aged train. Nothing like the muggle world trains.
I closed the journal I was previously writing in before I spaced out; remembering how my last year at a magic school ended and put the journal in the cross-body bag I carried on me.
Standing up I adjusted my blue ribbed sweater and black skirt. I bid my cat Cheshire a farewell kiss and scratch between the ears as she would be in a different area of the train. I put the cat carrier onto a cart with other pet cages and walked toward the boarding areas.
Stepping up into the train I began my search for a compartment. I was searching for a good five minutes before I finally found a compartment that was seemingly empty.
