Making my way to the dining hall, I looked for Jaelynn, but I was unable to find her. I assumed she was running late or something so I went over to my table and began eating. They had so many different options for food I wondered what they did with the things that weren't eaten. I looked at the options a moment before my eyes landed on a bunch of different pastries. I was in French heaven not going to lie. Pastries and fruits were always my go-to breakfast at Beauxbatons. I grabbed a chocolate-filled croissant and some berries before I found myself a seat next to Cho Chang.
"Good morning," she greeted me with a small smile.
I grinned, "Good morning to you too."
"Are you adjusting well? Your dormmates aren't too much or anything?" Cho asked, she seemed to care if I liked it here, it was very reassuring in some way.
"I am, it's a great atmosphere here, and my dormmates are pretty quiet so yes, everything is all good for me. Thank you for asking" I answered. It genuinely made me happy that the people here were so sweet.
"What's your first class? I have potions and I am DREADING it. Snape is honestly scary," Cho laughed, others at the table nodding in agreeance. I hoped he wasn't as bad as everyone had led on.
"I have charms then potions, is he really that bad?" I replied, slightly nervous. I loved potions class I just hoped I could enjoy it and not be afraid of the teacher.
"Well he's very stern, never jokes, and I'm pretty sure the only time I ever saw him smile was when a first-year walked out of his class crying because he failed her," The boy in front of me shrugged, taking a bite of his pancake.
"Don't scare her Anthony, You'll be fine, just don't disrespect him or laugh or show any sign of being a human," The girl beside him, Padma, joked. We laughed talking about teachers for a bit, I learned a lot from the conversation.

I was sitting in the middle of the potions class, no one had sat next to me but it was still passing period so I had hoped I wouldn't be cast out. I was looking around the class, not looking for anyone in particular when I heard the chair beside me move. I looked over and was met with the boy from last night, well this morning but you know. I just looked at him. He said nothing and I said nothing.
A moment later Professor Snape walked in with his coat dragging behind him in the wind, it looked like a cape and was kind of funny but I didn't want to risk getting into trouble or anything. He had a very flat, boring voice and probably could have lulled me to sleep.
"Can anyone explain to me the purpose of wolfsbane," the professor spoke, dryly. Several people rose their hands, including the mystery boy. I had a spark of hope that Snape would call on him so I could figure out his name.
"Mizz Delacour is it?" He spoke, "What is the purpose of wolfsbane." My face dropped. I'm going to end my life I thought. Oh well, it was an easy enough question.
"The Wolfsbane potion helps to aid those infected by lycanthropy. It makes them less dangerous during their transformations sir." I replied, his face hardly moved, but I could tell he was pleased, even just a little.
"Very well. Today you will be making Wolfsbane. Get to work." Snape instructed.
We all began to get to work once he dismissed us. Due to the singular cauldron on the table, I assumed we would be working with our partners so I was glad that I could maybe learn his name this time around.
"Well, are you gonna start or what?" A familiar voice spoke.
"Well, are you ever going to answer my question from earlier?"
"I will. Now let's get this over with," He dodged the question again. I rolled my eyes and went to grab the ingredients listed.
We immediately got to work and didn't exchange any words the rest of the time. When we finished Snape came around and told us we passed, I sighed in relief as I had heard him fail several others.
"What's your name by the way?" I finally broke the silence, "Or will I have to call you mystery boy forever?" I grinned a little.
He smiled, "Well I don't know your name either, blondie." This bitch.
"You know my last name,"
"Then my last name is Berkshire. That good enough for you Delacour?" He let out a little chuckle.
"Not really but I can work with it." I smiled.
"What's your next class," He asked. So he's back to being the interrogator
"Divination,"
"Me too, I could walk with you seeing as I've gone here since first year, and it's hardly your first day here."
"Thanks but I think I can manage," I declined the offer, didn't want to get too close for comfort or anything. He gave me a look but I just shrugged it off.
After a bit, the class came to a close and it was finally time for Divination. When I was walking I bumped into Anthony Goldstein and we spoke for a second before parting ways and heading to our respective classes. The time was cutting it close and I realized I was a little lost. Shit, what do I do now I thought. I was a little panicked till I felt someone tap my shoulder, I turned around and low and behold, it was the mystery boy.
"Lost?" He chuckled.
"Nope." I kept walking.
"Divination is the other way blondie." I was more than likely beet red right now, "Come on, no need for you to get lost," He laughed, putting a hand on my back as a way to lead me in the right direction.
We didn't say anything more as we walked to class. We made it just in the nick of time too. had I gotten any more lost I would have been late entirely. Our professor seemed a little nutty, but I don't think that dictates whether she's a good teacher or not. I looked around and noticed that the girl from dinner last night was in the class too, along with several other Slytherin members. We made eye contact for a moment before Professor Trelawny began to tell us where to sit.
"Miss Parkinson with Miss Delacour," As she continued naming off names I realized she had paired me with the girl from dinner.
"Hello, I'm Pansy Parkinson," She greeted.
"Hi, Uhm I'm Adelaine Delacour," I smiled
"Yeah, I know," I shot her a look of confusion, "From the sorting ceremony. Usually, they just sort older newcomers privately," she shrugged. I let out a small oh before we were given instructions to use tea leaves to read prophecies.

The rest of the day went by really fast, I had 5th hour with Jaelynn, which was caring for magical creatures. It was fitting for her due to who her father was. The long day wore me out and I was definitely ready for bed. After Dinner, I basically went straight to sleep. I probably knocked out the second my head hit the pillow.
