Going through the corridors of the castle was such a surreal feeling. The school was gorgeous and yes I know I've gone to a different school for magic and yes that campus was lovely but nothing in comparison to Hogwarts. This school was just. Wow.
The prefects led us up a tower where the first years and I learned that we had to answer a riddle to enter. Upon walking into the tower I was met with gorgeous blues and a welcoming aura. The house smelt of old books and vanilla-scented candles. The common room had two stories each having hundreds of books filling the shelves. It was stunning, I had a feeling I was gonna like it here.
the bedroom situation was three to a room, they were large so I felt that personal space wouldn't be an issue at all. I wasn't grouped with the two people I knew in the house so I figured I wouldn't talk to them much. The rooms were just as lovely as the common room, and the bedding was super soft.
I sat on my bed just taking it all in, I had already made a few friends and acquaintances, the entire school was gorgeous, and from what I heard the houses have a lot of parties. I wonder if that girl from the Slytherin table I saw will be in any of my classes or if she's even in my year. I was too caught up in all my thoughts about this whole school that I didn't realize I hadn't even unpacked anything at all. I was super tired so I decided to change into PJs and begin to wind down from the day.
I grabbed my clothes and went into the washrooms to change and get unready. I slipped on my light yellow pajama set that had little blue flowers as a pattern. I knew I'd be freezing my ass off but I slept better cold so I guess it worked in my favor. After changing I threw myself into the bed and cuddled up with my cat. I drifted to sleep after staring at the ceiling for about ten minutes.

It was around four in the morning in England, but unfortunately, I was still adjusted to France time, so it was five in my mind, which is when I usually get up in the summer. Time tends to go fast for me, which I think is my justification for being up and at it so early in the morning, so I have enough time for myself.
Normally I would just go back to bed since it's a school day and I'll need the rest but for some reason, my body just wouldn't go back to bed so I decided to get up. It's four right now, breakfast is at seven, and classes begin at eight, so essentially; I have way too much time on my hands.
I didn't exactly want to get ready yet so I thought I could sneak around the castle and explore a bit. Seeing as it was 4 am no one would be up I hoped. I moved Cheshire, kissing her on the head as an apology, grabbed a cardigan from my trunk and my wand for a light source, and creeped out of the girls' dormitories into the common room, checking to make sure it was clear before exiting the tower.
I walked for a moment after getting to the base of the tower, before I realized how spooky this castle was at night. Just the fact we have ghosts here too doesn't make that any better either, to be honest. It is what it is though, I made it this far already, time to explore. I decided to head toward the dining hall, just because it was a familiar area and go from there.
Once I got close to the hall I heard some rustling around somewhere behind me so I quickly murmured nox and leaned against the wall in an attempt to conceal myself. I wasn't sure if it was the caretaker or another student so I waited a moment just in case then continued walking around, forgetting what direction I had heard the noise from.
I had been walking kind of aimlessly for a while now, I was heading toward the dungeons when I heard more noise behind me, There was nothing to hide against now. It was slightly too bright to just lean against the wall and be fine. Please just be my mind playing tricks I silently prayed.
"What are you doing." A voice rose from behind me. My heart dropped. Fuck.
"Sir I am so sor- You're not the caretaker." I turned around, realizing that it in fact was not the old, creepy, caretaker but instead a taller, more handsome, brunette.
"I would hope not," The boy chuckled slightly, "Why are you so far from your dormitories?"
"Couldn't get back to sleep, decided to take a night stroll. You?" I replied
"This is my house entrance." He spoke, pointing at the door, very evidently the Slytherin dormitories.
"Then why were you out of your dorms?"
"You ask a lot of questions, blondie."
"You started the interrogation," I defended.
"Touche." He acquiesced. I grinned. He turned around and started toward his common room.
"You still haven't answered my question," I spoke.
"I will," He turned around again and continued into his common room. You will my ass.
I decided to just head back to my common room and get ready for the day. I was midway up the tower stairs before realizing I never learned his name. Damn.
I finally reached my common room and saw that the time was 0500. I was out for an hour but it only felt like twenty minutes. I now had around an hour before others began to get up so I took that as an opening to shower. I let the warmth of the water cover me like a blanket, taking my time in the shower today. My showers were typically pretty fast but today I felt like taking my time.
I dressed in a black pleated skirt and white blouse along with the Ravenclaw house tie. I had finished getting ready by the time the other girls were getting into the showers. all I had left was to put on my mary jane's and feed my cat. After finishing up that I headed down into the dining hall.
