(vaguely mentions klavier one time in the last chapter and now feels like as if i have to elaborate so i kind of do in this chapter but also go in the way i actually wanted to, plus, spoilers for DD. oops. also, swear warning for this chapter, and probably ones later down the road. i'm gonna try to keep it to a minimum, but tbh there are some characters I feel like would have the mouth of a sailor for fun)

Apollo Justice

The investigation began. The police department apparently had sent a detective under the name Dick Gumshoe. I began to walk towards him when Athena stood in front of me. "Apollo! You gotta tell me what you and prosecutor Gavin were talking about in the hall!" She demanded. I sighed. "I'll tell you and then we should get investigating, okay?" I told her. She just nodded as I led the two of us to a bench. "Okay, you know the part where I went in the hall, already. But after that, I guess I have some explaining to do."

Despite the fact it was only a few minutes ago, it felt like I was describing something that happened years ago. I had been brought in the hallway, only to be met with a face of genuine concern. I had bumped into him about two days after adopting Lucy, and by that time I had been stressed out, on top of that I had learned that the employees at the Space Center had only recently been mentioning about finally cleaning out Clay's stuff, only oh, about...two whole years after he had died. Plus, despite the fact work was going fine, I still found myself stressed out.

The last thing I had expected was Prosecutor Gavin checking in on me.

I had expected some snarky comment, one I probably would think of later. What I hadn't been expecting were the words that actually came out of his mouth.

Okay, that's sort of a lie. I expected some sort of flirting, and knowing him, that's what I received.

"Herr Forehead, there's no polite way to say this. You normally are a very attractive man, don't get me wrong-" I had punched him in the shoulder. "Ow. What I was going to say before you hit me was, as there is no polite way to say this, I must be frank with you." He paused for a moment before "You look like shit." He had said that without batting an eye. I proceeded to roll my eyes. "Tell me something I don't know." Is all I had to say in response. "Uh, I got you a gift?" I blinked in response. "What?" I replied. He then stuck his hand in his pocket, pulling something out. "Ja. I was...well, waiting for a better time, however...I feel as if it could make your mood lighten." He had said as he handed over something in my direction. I took it without knowing what it was.

A...necklace? I took a moment to look at it. There was something on it. A recreation of my bracelet. Did...did he have this custom made? I had been staring at it for quite a while, to the point I had probably spaced out, until a hand was waved in front of me. "Hallo? Earth to Herr Forehead?" I blinked. "Oh, uh, sorry. Just...y'know, tired." Apparently, that didn't fool him. "There's other stuff going on, too, I know you by now, Herr Forehead." It was then silent.

"Okay, fine, I'll tell you."

So I did. I told him. I told him about how stressed I was, especially after just adopting a kid. I had been on the verge of crying. His face had only grew more concerned.

"Herr Forehead, listen to me. First off, yikes. Second off, if you need any stress taken away, just know that Herr Wright would be fine with watching your daughter. I'm moving back to the states permanently, so here's where I'll be. Just pop by if you ever need to talk." That's when Athena interrupted.

"YOU GOT HIS ADDRESS!?" She yelled. "Yeah, jee, calm down, it's not a big deal. Let's just get to investigating. After that we walked back into the office, so that's where it ends. Now, c'mon, this crime scene isn't gonna investigate itself." I went to get up. "Apollo, please! I GOTTA know what happens next!" Athena had whined. "Didn't you hear me? That's where it ended. Yikes, did you get water in your ears?" I stood up finally, before walking over to where Maggey Byrde had been.

I had met Maya Fey once before, but the first piece of evidence at the crime scene was a regular old shoe. Which would make no sense. If it weren't for the fact that she wore sandals. I forgot about the detective until I heard someone shout. "SIR! STEP AWAY FROM THE CRIME SCENE!"

Well, time to awkwardly explain what I was doing there. And probably fast.

(a/n - its like midnight for me, i just finished this, i'm gonna write the investigation later. ANYWAY GUMSHOE MY BB BOY HE IS HERE AND INCLUDED i love him. also? first reference to the official AA jewelry? ...yeah.)
