The King

Chapter 3: Encounters
"Now that that's done, what do you want to do?" Inferno asked as they walked. "We could climb that mountain, to get a better view of the surroundings." Jamie suggested. "Sure." Elliot agreed. As they walked up the mountain, darkness began to form a portal above. "What is that?" Inferno asked. "We better go check it out." Elliot suggested. As they ran to the top of the mountain, a black lightning bolt shot out from the portal, revealing a figure. They ran up to the figure. "Who are you?" Inferno asked. "You will be some of the first human beings to learn my name, but not the first human beings to survive. My name is Dark. Leader of Aliens." Dark announced. The three were stunned at those words. Leader of Aliens? Inferno immediately launched himself towards Dark, claymore in his hand. But Dark simply held his hand up at Inferno, and a portal appeared, dragging Inferno in. "Inferno!" Elliot and Jamie shouted in unison. Jamie and Elliot carefully studied the opponent. Dark was an alien with black spikes for hair and sharp silver looking claws for hands. "These new claws really are amazing." Dark muttered quietly to himself. Suddenly, Dark was surrounded by vines. Elliot clenched his hands, green light emitting from them. Unfortunately, as they got close to Dark, they scattered, only leaving torn colours of green behind. Suddenly, Dark raised his hand, and a portal appeared behind Elliot. Inferno tumbled out, knocking into Elliot, breaking his focus for the spell. Jamie quickly unsheathed his dagger, and ran towards Dark with gracious speed. "Impressive!" Dark managed to say as a dagger appeared in front of him. Dark easily blocked this, raising his claws to intercept the dagger. Just a moment later, Jamie appeared, holding the dagger. Suddenly, the dagger glowed a pale blue. The tables turned as Dark had several cuts on himself. Elliot and Inferno used this chance to attack Dark. Dark found himself tied in vines. Moments later, Inferno was above Dark, Claymore raised for a strike. Jamie, as well, was moving in for a strike as well, dagger raised. Suddenly, the three were thrown back. "Didn't think I'd have to use my own power..." Dark muttered to himself. "We must combine our attacks." Jamie said to the other two as they stood up. Without warning, Inferno bounded towards Dark. Several dark slashes appeared to strike Inferno down, but were quickly intercepted by Elliot's vines as he too, with Jamie, ran towards Dark. Jamie's dagger glowed again. Suddenly, like twisting water, Jamie cleanly cut Dark's arms from his body. "Now I have a real challenge!" Dark shouted with excitement. Dark instantly regrew his arms. He grabbed Jamie and Inferno by the arm, and flung them into Elliot. The three tumbled back. Jamie though, was already gone. He had already cut Dark's regenerated arm off. Unfortunately, Dark grabbed Jamie by the neck with his other arm, regenerating his lost arm in the process. "You fast little brat. You're strong, I'll give you that, but no match for me. Suddenly, spiked vines tugged at Dark's legs, dragging him down into the ground. As Jamie managed to escape, thanks to this, Inferno used his Claymore to slash down at Dark, narrowly missing Dark's head due to Dark dodging, but still slicing Dark's shoulder deep. This is going to be hard. Really hard. The Three thought.
