So this was weird. Clobber and Blast were planning to help them against Dark, they wanted him gone. However, they hadn't accounted for a Gods vs Mortals scenario. Clobber tried to make peace instantly, because then Dark would eliminate them both while they weren't ready. Where did Dark lie in this? He wasn't a god, he wasn't a mortal. He was an alien. He was back and hungry for blood. 'Oh, what have we done?' Yelled Inferno at the predicament of the trio. Polaris had returned to shore to his underground base and was migrating. He had agreed to becoming Winter's tutor, so he had to move close. This is what Inferno had insisted before he got the idea to share his love for sailing with his daughter and girlfriend. He was in the middle of getting Winter to learn a healing and reincarnation spell, even though she was not even a year old. She was an awkwardly intelligent one, who had said her first words recently. Inferno didn't know what to say… He wasn't necessarily happy in front of Scarlet that his daughter's first word had been 'Arsehole!', but he was secretly pleased. 'Shh… a daughter after my own heart… hilarious!' He had told her when she began to cry. In Jamie's household, Astral was mad! Not Jamie's fault. He had been out negotiating a war that was going to take hundreds of lives, but he had missed dinner. This was bad for him. Luckily Inferno jumped to his case, and defended him, and Astral conceded. She had always had a soft spot for the childlike Inferno. Nothing more though, her love belonged to Jamie. Then she had begun preparing for war, and that was why she was mad. There was power behind the force they had. Inferno, with quite a passionate interest for chess, sometimes crying and swearing over a stalemate. He had that knowledge, and the pawns on the chess board gave him an idea. He armed himself, then went up to the palace of the gods, and came back smiling. 'What happened?' Asked Jamie, very wary of the things Inferno got up to. 'One week from now, save the date.' Proclaimed Inferno. 'I've got a chess game, quite a big one. Let's say it bets our fate.' Oh my god. A madman he was, but this crossed the line, and Elliot and Jamie exploded. They pounded and hammered, with no real point, at why the hell would the Lowly CM Inferno with a ELO of 1892, to the super GM gods with an ELO of almost 3000? According to fancy boy Inferno, you can beat a force with a petty army! It got annoying, and Scarlet gave him a trademark slap. Wow. This was weird. He wasn't going to win it and be the reason we go to war. Inferno had a plan, however. Dark would know about the game, and while Inferno played Archon, Dark would strike, however, Inferno had brought his weapons to the game, but the Archon would have not. It would have been the perfect elimination! Could he do it on his own? Easily. Could he do it with help? No, so he chose not to tell the plan. If Dark did not ambush, he had all intention to win! What would happen if it was a stalemate? Would they have to find a treaty? He was great at those, so he was playing for a stalemate. A million thoughts raced through him at night, bloody hell.
How much more was he to endure? This was a painful game, with a no doubt fatal conclusion, and he was just stalling to gain more time. He needed Jamie, or Elliot. He was an idiot, my god. This was an awful plan with a 2% success chance, or at least that's what Scarlet had told him. He laughed and said, 'Thanks, Miss Sunshine!', but she was right, so, so right. He was on top of the first 40 moves, but after that he had gotten arrogant, a recurring quality in himself, and completely lost the plot. 'What? How? When? No!' Were the only words that crossed his mind every move. And he was thinking 5 moves ahead but the Archon was thinking 20. He would trap an important piece and the Archon would remove the issue every single time. How much more could he take? The whole of Mars was watching, and dare he say, the whole of the universe. Inferno swore as Archon managed to fork his queen and king. He reluctantly moved his king to an open square. What am I supposed to do? Inferno thought as Archon moved his knight to take the queen. Inferno's body filled with terror as he realised his mistake by moving his pawn. It was mate in one. Archon moved his queen with no thought. Checkmate. Inferno could imagine Jamie and Elliot facepalming. 'Now..' Archon began. An explosion blasted through the cloud room. Dark stood there, his claws flexing menacingly. 'I'm coming back to take what's mine!' He said with a fierce tone. 'Take back what's yours? This is all mine.' Archon said as he brandished 4 glowing pieces. He snapped his fingers. Dark jumped back like he was attacked by an invisible force. Dark, however, didn't notice his severed arm before the pain came to him. 'AH!' Dark shouted in pain and surprise. 'I changed my mind. I won't kill you and Mars right here and now. Instead,' Archon said as he turned to the spectral device that broadcasted to the universe, 'Whichever planet, person or group is able to destroy Mars first, will gain the right to transfer into Godhood.'. Inferno was shocked. He was relieved that he wouldn't die just yet, but worried about the attacks that might happen in the future. No one in their right mind would pass up the opportunity to become Godhood. Inferno swore over and over.
Elliot exploded. Jamie, trying to be understanding, was less harsh, but Elliot was having none of it. A very stupid idea Inferno had. Swears and threats were thrown.
'What is wrong with you? How could you thought of such a stupid idea? You mother fu-'. 'At least it had more of a chance then yours would ever have!'. 'Stop it!' Jamie said in a tone surprisingly fierce. Something came to Elliot. 'Fine. Get some rest.' He said to Inferno, his tone still coursing with hostility.
'Polaris?' Inferno asked. 'Yeah bruv?'. 'I need you to create an ice shield around Mars.'. 'I don't even know if I can do that, but which Hemisphere?'. 'Bro just make it!'. 'Where do I make it? What Hemisphere? Northern or Southern?' 'I don't know? Southern?'. Polaris immediately got to work, leaving Inferno to prepare for the Pandemonium.
