Mary McDonald fled Britain at 16 never to be seen or heard of by anyone ever again. Though no one put in any effort to look for her it's not as if she wanted it. No, she wanted to be far away from the wizarding world herself. The muggle-born didn't want to be in the shadows, didn't want to be a second choice.
