Masking wings isn't difficult, but the process is long. In advance, two of the boss's handiest devils had created a machine that could change the color of a devil's wings to be the color of an angel's for exactly one month. This gave Killua a time limit. To make matters more complicated, every time Killua came into contact with hell, his time was shortened by one day.
Of course, he would have to periodically check in with the boss to report his progress and such, but it would have to skillfully planned so that he wouldn't run out of time and loose Gon's trust once he found out that Killua was a devil.
On top of all this, the machine took 13 hours for the process to be complete, and the time was ticking. In order for Killua to erase Gloria from existence, he would have to break into the heaven archive and erase her file, by sending it to hell. This would take at least a couple hours if he didn't want the arch angel to sense it, and he also had to make himself a fake file, as a guide. It would be close timing, but it had to work.
....................
There was a flush of mist that released from the machine, as Killua stepped out after a long thirteen hours of having his wings tightly bound to the machine, and his body in the capsule. He'd used the time to review the plan over and over in his head, as well as think of different strategies to tarnish Gon's soul.
He knew first he had to gain Gon's trust, so he would study Gon's file in the archive for a bit after he created his fake file and erased Gloria's. Gloria would be sent to hell and locked in purgatory so she wouldn't be able to warn the archangel. Purgatory was closely guarded by devils and there was little chance she could escape.
Once Killua stepped out of the machine, his wings were bright and not black anymore. They were the same feathery cream ivory color that all of the other angels were.
If anything, the wings looked more natural on him than the black ones because of his naturally white hair. Devils had once been mortal too. But any people that died and went to hell with such bad sins, were promoted depending on their obedience. Killua in his life, had assassinated thousands of people, despite dying at around 19, just a couple weeks before he turned twenty.
After exiting the machine, and passing the tests and final briefing, Killua stood at the weakest point in the cracked barrier between heaven and hell. It would be a little more than a month until hell would take over heaven, the archangel would be dead, and the devils would win.
"Are you ready Killua?" the operator asked. He was only there to make sure the transition went smoothly as Killua used his ability to dissolve the barrier. Some devils had interesting modifications due to errors in the process of devil's magic gifting, that some extremely powerful devils were given.
"Ready as I'll ever be!" Killua chuckled, not feeling nervous at all.
A small glow came from the Killua's hands, as he placed them on the barrier, and it started to become more transparent.
The barrier was almost fully dissolved in a space big enough for Killua to fit through.
Then, Killua entered the portal looking mass, and disappeared into the heaven archives. One of the perks of the special ability devil's doom is being able to create portals.
This would be easy. Or would it?
