Three Weeks Ago
~Colin's POV~
"What did you tell her?" I demand. I can feel the blinding rage I am feeling hardening my jaw. It's clenched so tightly that it's almost painful.
The doctor takes a step back, looking a little startled at my rage. I don't know why she is surprised; she has known me for three years now, and she should know not to cross me. Everyone that has ever spent time around me knows how I can be when I get angry, and I am beyond angry right now. Palm twitchingly mad, that's what my Submissives like to say.
"I told her what she has a right to know, sir," she says in her own defence. Crossing her arms over her chest as if that will protect her from my fury.
I pinch the bridge of my nose, my fist balled up in frustration. "How many times do I have to tell you to keep your nose out of my business?"
"This is not just your business, sir. She obviously does not want this! She is my patient, Mr. Corrette, I have a responsibility to her."
I glare at her "she is my responsibility, not yours."
"With all due respect, sir, if you want her to have your baby, she needs to be made aware of it."
"Dr. Falcone, I respect you, but you are crossing lines. I am not afraid to fire you."
"All due respect, but I don't think you will, sir. Where are you going to find another doctor that is willing to do this? Legally she is my patient and even if you are paying me extra, I am not your employee. I am not willing to blatantly lie to her."
It's like I can see flames as anger rips through my body. The worst part? She is right. It had been hard enough to find her. I know I can't just fire her. I breathe a shaky, fury-filled breath through my nose.
"You are dismissed," I say nodding her towards the door. Without making sure that she does as I say I turn to the door, and stepping into the room.
Peyton sits on the double hospital bed. She was still wearing the hospital gown. Sitting on the edge of the bed, picking at the cuticle of her pinky, a sign that she is stressed. Her legs hang off the bed swaying subconsciously.
Falcone's nurse was in the room, putting away the stirrups, ultrasound equipment and other equipment that had been brought out for today's examination. She finishes quickly when I enter and then walks out of the room.
The room is like a mix of a luxury hotel and an expensive private hospital. The décor was comfortable, and cozy, and designed to make sure the occupant was comfortable. Pictures of white sand beaches and peaceful forests hung on the light gray walls. Comfy carpet that your feet sunk into perfectly lined the floor, except for an 8ft by 8ft square underneath the bed, which was lined with hardy tiles, small holes within them for draining water and making cleaning easy. A monitor was pushed into the corner as well as various other equipment. Any medical procedure could be performed in this room, as long as I found a doctor willing to do it away from the hospital.
"Why didn't you tell me?" Peyton asks the moment the door closes behind the nurse. I have been introduced to Falcone's nurse now five times, I can't seem to remember her name for the life of me.
I walk over to the stool, sitting down I slowly roll over to her. "Look at me," I order, my voice is softer, and my eyes warm with an apology.
Her obedience to my every order has become second nature by now, even when outside of my dungeon. She turns her eyes up to mine, her chestnut eyes swim with betrayal.
"I was going to tell you," I say honestly, reaching my hand out to hers.
She withdraws it away and at the moment I am not willing to frown in disapproval at the action. I understand that she is upset, and that she feels betrayed. I have broken her trust. "When? When I was already pregnant?"
