~Colin's POV~
I look up from my book just as Emery makes her way into the den. She is still walking a little funny which sort of makes me smile in amusement.
"How was your message?" I ask, setting my book down on the side table.
Emery smiles a little "really good, I don't think I have ever felt this relaxed." Her tone is soft and warm, the massage clearly had the effect that I had wanted. She walks over, stopping right in front of me, "c-can I climb into your lap?"
I hesitate a moment before slowly nodding. "Yeah, just..."
"I-I won't touch you, promise," she says as she slowly climbs into my lap, straddling me.
My heart jumps in my chest and I lean further back against the cushion like I am trying to put a little space between us. I slowly breathe a shaky sigh to force my heart to slow down, gazing up at her.
Emery gazes down at me "let me touch your hair. Please."
I feel my jaw tighten a little, "Emery."
"Please," she whispers, her hand moves, and she just about brushes it against my cheek before I catch her arm.
I breathe a heavy sigh, kissing her knuckles before pushing her hand away. "I have some gifts for you."
She looks rather disappointed. "Colin..."
I shake my head and slowly guide her off my lap, getting to my feet. "London will you grab Emery's gifts from my room?" I call down the hall.
"Course, sir," she says before I hear her head for the stairs.
I turn to Emery who has now sat in the armchair. "I'm glad you enjoyed your message. Did it help with any of your soreness?"
"It helped with the whiplash... not so much with everything below the waist," Emery says with a small, amused smile.
I laugh a little glancing up when London steps in. She places both boxes on the coffee table before heading off to continue preparing lunch.
Emery glances at the boxes. "You didn't have to... you have already spent enough money on me."
I smile a little shaking my head "little word of advice. Get used to me spending money on you. Open the green one first."
Emery holds my gaze a moment before she pulls the large box into her lap. "You are a very good wrapper."
I laugh warmly "I can't take credit for that. London wraps all my gifts."
Emery laughs a little "I am not surprised by that." When she has finished pulling off the wrapping, she pulls off the lid. Her eyes widen "oh my God, Colin. This is way too much."
Inside the box is a purple iPhone 14 Pro, the silver newest model of the MacBook Pro, a silver iPad Pro with an iPencil, an iWatch series 8 and a Kindle.
"Apple must love you," Emery says as she takes out the phone turning it over.
I laugh a little at her joke "probably. The phone is already set up with unlimited data, texting and calling, anywhere in the world."
"Anywhere?" She asks looking up at me.
I nod. "If I have to leave the country on business, I want you to be able to get in contact with me. Keeping in regular contact with me is one of the rules, remember?"
Emery slowly nods.
"I have also signed you up for Apple Music, Kindle Unlimited, and Audible," I say as I sit down on the couch leaning into the cushion.
