6. shake your tail!

[In the gym, Principal Kunahito and Vice-Principal Tachikawa stand side-by-side on the stage. Students sit on chairs before it, divided by clubs.]

Genka: Welcome to the first ever Akademi High Battle of the Clubs! I believe I speak for everyone when I say it is by far the greatest thing we have ever done here at this school!

[Everybody cheers.]

Genka: We are so glad our two newest students, Sakyu and Inkyu Basu, inspired us to do this!

[Sakyu and Inkyu exchange smirks, their necklaces shining.]

[Kyoshi takes the microphone.]

Kyoshi: However, because this is a competition, we may only choose one band. You can't all be winners. So, who will win the Battle of the Clubs?

Beshi [to Dora]: Heh, please, they've got nothing on us.

Pippi: You wanna say that to my face?

Beshi: Sure! I said... [takes a deep breath] YOU'VE GOT NOTHING ON US, OSAFUNE!!!

Hoshiko: Yeah, right, just you wait! We'll come on top!

[Toga rolls his eyes at her, although you can't really tell because of the pair of pineapple sunglasses on his face.]

Toga: Please, you can't even sing. What are you gonna do, make our ears bleed to death? That's not exactly my definition of music...

Chojo: As if anybody cares about your definition on anything. Get with the program: nobody cares about you.

Kyuji: You watch your mouth—!

Shin: And you watch your fingers. I'm certain you treasure them. You wouldn't want them to be ripped off one by one, shall you continue to speak like that to my club members, now, do you?

Umeji: Would you quit trying to be edgy, man? Nobody is impressed!

Gaku [more to himself, shuddering]: Speak for yourself... I don't want anything to happen to my fingers...

[Dairoku pats his back as more and more people argue, green fog going through the gym once again. Sakyu and Inkyu absorb it in their necklaces and grin menacingly.]

Sakyu: Our true power is being restored, sister... Do you feel it?

[The Magical Yukis, plus Itachi, enter the gym. The two sisters look at them and giggle.]

Inkyu: I do, sister! And that's before we even laid a hand on them! [she hesitates] Wait, speaking of, how are we even gonna affect them? They seem to be protected somehow from our magic. How are we ever gonna get to them?

Sakyu: The Magical Yukis are just as capable of falling apart like everyone else. You've seen how easily we've divided couples with just a little magic... [She smiles, watching Chojo, Unagi and Hojiro argue in a corner, while Daku and Riku avoid each other's gazes. She turns back to her little sister.] But with even more power, and everyone lining up to make their lives a living hell, trust me, sister, those seven are not safe. Not yet.

[A certain brown-haired boy hears them talk and frowns at that, but decides to think nothing of it as he watches one of his closest peers from the Magical Yukis talk to his own friends.]

Geiju: This is horrible... They're all fighting. Again.

Gema: I don't know about you guys, but seeing my club be total assholes to people is so weird. It's like a whole different universe.

Budo: Let's just focus on ourselves for now... Let's play and get this over with. We have nothing to worry about with Megami being here, [he smiles at her] right?
