A/N: sorry for not updating this in a while. I have been working on my Jenna Ortega book and also didn't have many ideas for this one left but I got a request on this one so imma go do that one.

Alex's POV:

It has officially been a year since the shooting. Me and Vada got a little apartment close to her parent's house so we could still visit whenever we wanted. We graduated school this summer and Vada was off to college. I decided to focus on my music and bring out some of my own songs. We also had a dog named Sirius just because it was a black dog and me and Vada are both huge nerds. We had a good little life and everything was going great.

I was sitting in my studio working on a song right now when I heard my door open and 2 skinny arms wrapped around me. I kissed the arm around me and greeted my girlfriend.

"Hey baby, how was school?"

She kissed the top of my head.

"It was good. I already walked Sirius by the way so you don't have to worry about that."

I nodded and turned around to face her. She sat down in my lap and hugged me.

"I missed you."

I chuckled and peppered her in kisses.

"I missed you too love."

We sat like that for a bit til we heard the doorbell. I pulled Vada off of me and walked up to the door to open it. I opened it and I slammed it immediately after seeing who was there. Vada ran up to me as I started hyperventilating.

"Hey hey what's wrong, who's at the door?"

I couldn't talk, I couldn't breath. He started bonking on the door yelling to open up. Vada didn't know what was happening and opened the door showing my dad standing there angrily. Vada had never seen my dad before so she didn't know what was going on. My dad barged into our apartment and started yelling.

"There you are you little prick, I have been looking for you for a year!"

Vada put the pieces together and tried to ask my dad to leave.

"SHUT UP YOU LITTLE SLUT!"

I gained control of my breathing and stood up.

"DONT TALK TO MY FUCKING GIRLFRIEND LIKE THAT DICK!"

He started laughing and kicked me down again.

"You're telling me that's what you settled for. I would've rather you dated a guy you filthy faggot!"

Vada tried calling the police but my dad took her phone and threw it across the room. He turned his attention back to me who was on the floor holding my stomach in pain.

"I still have full custody of you little prick. You're not an adult yet. I will do everything in my power to get you back and I will make you wish you died in that shooting."

He walked out again and Vada ran up to me and hugged me. I clang onto her and sobbed in her arms while she also sobbed quietly. We sat there for a bit and Sirius had also come to join the hug.

It had been a few weeks since my dad showed up and I started calming my nerves. He wouldn't actually do anything he didn't even have the energy to get out of his god damn bed. Vada had called the cops but they said they couldn't do anything since he didn't do anything yet. Vada's PTSD has gotten worse and she had insomnia again. We were laying in bed right now. It was 2am and I just woke up to get a glass of water. I went to my side to hug Vada as I always did but noticed the cold sheet instead of my lovely girlfriend. My eyes shot open and I noticed she was also not in the bathroom as the lights were off.

"Vada?"

I got out of bed and headed downstairs.

"Vada?!"

I called again getting anxious now. I then saw her sitting on the couch writing on her laptop with her headphones on. I walked up to her and softly hugged her from behind. She flinched a bit but relaxed when she realized it's me. I took her headphones off so she could hear me.

"What are you doing sweetheart?"

She shrugged.

"Just writing, couldn't sleep again so I decided to be useful for once."

I nodded and looked over her shoulder to see what she was writing.

"Are you writing a novel?"

She smiled and nodded. I gave her a quick kiss on the top of her head and she chuckled.

"C'mon baby girl, let's get back to bed okay?"

She sighed and nodded as she slowly stood up. Her tiredness took over and she had trouble standing.

"Okay come here."

I said as I walked over to her and lifted her up bridal style. She put her arms around me and buried her face in my neck as I walked back to our bedroom. I put her softly down on her side of the bed and then walked to the bathroom to quickly get that glass of water I woke up for. I put it down on my nightstand and laid back down. I put my arms around Vada and she turned to her side so she was cuddling into me now. Her head in my neck and arms and legs around me like a koala. I traced patterns on her back to make her go tired and she slowly fell asleep in my arms. When I heard her soft snores I kissed her forehead softly and closed my own eyes as well.

But I didn't think my dad was actually up to something when I thought he was just being lazy....

A/N: so sorry for not updating but I had no idea for this story anymore so tysm for requesting something cause I ran out of ideas xD. Now I have a question for you guys: what do you wanna see happening in this story? I have an idea for it but I wanna know yalls opinion first to see if maybe you have better ideas or somethin pls lmk what you wanna see. love yall byeeee
