"R-I-V-E-R! PARK! We came to win, we came to fight! We're ahead of you, faster than the light!" Se heard the cheerleaders chant, waving their red and black pom-poms as my team got ready.
This was the first sports event of the school year and we were all exited and hyped, but also under pressure, since after these games, there would be tryouts for new teammates and a new captain.
We were all wearing our auburn and black gear, since those were the school colours, apart from Seulgi who was wearing black and white as she is our goalkeeper. I pulled my short brown hair into a tiny ponytail. I strapped my shin pads to my legs and pulled up my red socks with black stripes at the top.
"Come on team!" I yelled, standing on one of the benches. "We're up first, so we have to be more memorable than the basketball team, the netball team and the volleyball team! So let's go!" I don't like long speeches, I like to keep them short and snappy.
We made our way out of the locker room and onto the field. "Lisa!" I recognised the voice, it was my friend Irene, a year beneath me and one of the best players on the team. "Yeah?" I turned to her.
"Even if we lose tonight. I'll still vote for you as captain.' She grinned, showing a thumbs up with both hands. I smiled back.
We walked onto the field, in an orderly fashion, me at the front, with Seulgi, at my side and everyone else walking in pairs behind us. The cheerleaders kept on cheering, and dancing, throwing their captain, Jennie, in the air and catching her. She looked mesmerising, her blonde ponytail flicking everywhere as she was deing flung in the air by her teammates.
"Lisal" Seulgi hissed and I snapped my head to Look at her and then down at my feet to hide my blushing face.
The crowds roared at our appearance, give me a good feeling in my tummy.
The game started, and I was ready, so was everyone.
---
The game was over and we won by a mile We were completely ecstatic! The cheerleaders ran in sync onto the field, Jennie was obviously the first.
They did their choreography and I couldn't take my eyes off Jennie. Her beautifully toned legs as she ran, jumped. Although she was the captain she wasn't always in the center of the choreography.
She was just about to pick up one of the girls but Seulgi had to snap me back out of my daydreams again. She yanked my wrist and pulled me back to the locker room. "Hey babe!" Kai, Seulgi's boyfriend smacked her butt on his way out onto the court. He was on the basketball team. She just smirked back at him but then looked at me.
In the locker room we were met by the rest of the team whooping at my entrance. "Lisa! OUR AWESOME TEAM CAPTAIN!" Everyone screeched as Seulgi, Dahyun and Rosé picked me up.
After they put me back down, we celebrated a little more and decided we'd all go have a big feast at the pizza place down the road after the event finishes, it we win the whole thing.

Well were a lucky school aren't we? No, West Valley High School is just terrible at sports, they're more notorious for being the smartest school.
AlL of us, the cheerleaders, basketballers, netballers, volleyballers and us, the soccer players. We all went to buy pizza, "Lisa." Rosé nudged me as we walked on.
"Hm?" I hummed a reply.
"Recently you seem, sort of, distracted, if I may, by the cheerleading captain." She spoke, slowly, in case she might upset me or whatnot. I looked at her, "U-um." My heart started racing.
"You're blushing. You can tell me anything though, I'm your best friend, and so is Seulgi, so... You know. And plus, I don't know her personally, but l've heard she's a real bitch." She smiled and I just looked down at my feet.
Was I really that obvious? I mean. I think the word Rosé used was just right. Distracted. Definitely, I mean, Jennie was so beautiful, how could you not be distracted, but I'm sure she's a really nice person, they're just rumours.
But I'm not gay, I'm totally straight. I just appreciate another woman's beauty.
---
We all subconsciously divided ourselves into our sports teams at the pizza place, l mean my soccer team is my sort of friendship group, the cheerleaders are all tight and etcetera.
We sat in our divided places but we were shouting around to other people anyway. The pizza place was reserved for us for that evening, otherwise many customers would be disturbed.
The evening was over and everyone started making their way home. Rosé and I lived in the same direction, so we said bye to everyone, not just the soccer players, and we dispersed.
"Tonight was Lit" Rosé sounded really dead but her actions were the complete opposite. "I hope you stay captain, honestly, I don't think we could do any better than you, so when we graduate it's gonna be sad for everyone younger than us."
"But that's not till next year." | smiled.
"You're gonna miss Jennie." She snorted. I shot her a look.
"No. I'm not into her like that. And plus I'll miss my whole team." I threw an arm over her shoulder, even though she's slightly taller than me.
We got to Rosé's house first. She got her keys and quietly opened the door. "Are you gonna be okay on your own?" She asked me.
I nodded, "Ill call you when I get home."
"Okay, I don't want any pedophiles getting you. It's very dark"
"They won't. Bye!"
"See ya!" We hugged and I walked home. I striped off my clothes and out on my oversized t-shirt and took my hair out of my ponytail. I quickly brushed my teeth and packed my bag for tomorrow. Finally | climbed into my bed and pulled the duvet up to my cars and curling it around me, like a caterpillar.
Tomorrow is Friday, the day each sports group votes for their new captains.
