"I remember," i sigh. I slip on my shoes as my brothers follow me to the door way."Where you going?" Del asks.
"Your not even in your uniform," Arthur adds.
Shit they're right.
I walk back to the island to sit down and take my shoes off. Theo laughs at me for forgetting to get changed before heading out. He was right to laugh. I was so caught up in remembering the events from last night that it had completely slipped my mind. As soon as my shoes are off i walked back into my room. It was fianaly late enough that the sun was visible through the clouds and the morning birds were cawing already. I walk to my dresser once again and open the bottom drawer where i keep my school uniform. My uniform was a plain white button up shirt, a blue plaid skirt and a blue blazer. The colors matched pretty well but it was only because we were required to wear the school color, blue and our house colors for our skirts and a ties that was also the color of the house we were in. All the houses were named after people who once ruled the kingdom before it became corrupt. I was in Lanier house, Del and Arthur were in the same house as me. While Theo was in house Ector with most of his friends. There was another house but I didn't care to learn its name for i knew no one who was in it. Once im done puling my socks up i head out my room to see all my brothers changed as well. Del and Arthur in blue ties and Theo in green. We dont talk as we all slip on our school shoes. Val and Dune weren't awake this early so we never had to worry about seeing them before school. I grabbed my school bag and swung it over my shoulder. We walked out the door, closing it behind us.
"Hey how'd ya fix my head up?" i ask as we start to walk up the hill to get into the heart of the town. The ground transitions from wooded dock to cobblestone as we walk up a wide cobblestone bridge. They all seem to be hesitating to answer my question.
"We may have stole some medallions from Dune. Ofcourse he didnt have any stong enough to fully heal it so be careful as it may start bleeding again if you work to much," Arthur was the one to answer.
Shit this wasnt good. Dune wasnt going to be happy about this. Im not scared of much but i knew he was more dangerous then any of my brothers cared to admit.
"Shit guys!"
"What else were we supposed to do!? You were bleeding out!" Theo is always the first to exaggerate. I groan in agitation.
"He's right. And trust me we tried to find other ways to help, it was the only option," Del adds. I trust Del the most so i let their stupid decision go. We make it to the stop of the hill, the ground levels to a flat as we walk intot the square. I liked the square. A closed off space with a fountain in the middle with markets on the weekends was my kind of place. Especially when it was too early in the morning to be filled with people. The Cafes were just starting to open which omitted a smell of baked goods and coffee.
"Hey guys!" I turn to my left to see our friend Fia join us on our walk to school. She had been friends with us since we arrived. It hadn't been long since we met her but i could tell Del had a crush on the short brunet girl. Whenever she talked to him he would advert his eyes and blush crimson. It was cute how much he liked her.
"Hey Fia!" i walk in front of Arthur to be able walking next to her. Me and her were pretty close already, i enjoyed her company.
"I heard what happened yesterday, you ok?" she asked me.
"Im fine thanks," i smiled to reassure her of my health. We continued our walk. We walked out of the square and continued through town. We talked casually trying to make comments about the weather and whatever school work we had coming up. We continue further finally making it to the school. The school was in a more modern building then the rest of the town. It was in the hills outside of the town. It was the only school the town had. It was only a highschool so not a lot of people moved here with their kids. It was mostly old people in the town or people who escaped the empire. The named the school Amell School for Kings but everyone who went there just called it A.S.K for short. Everyone else startd to walk into the school but i couldnt help but stand in the doorway. I had been here before but everytime its towering beauty would amaze me. It had two royal stair cases in the front entryway. The walls lined with book shelves that went all the way up the walls, touching the ceiling. The ceiling was high and beautifully lit with the biggest chandelier i could fathom. There was rumored that the school used to be an old palace before the empire was formed, i sure could believe that.
"Hey you alright?" Arthur notices that i had stopped and had walked back to me.
"Im fine. Just cant get over this place," i say to him with a huge smile on my face. He laughs.
"Agreed," he places his hands into the pockets of his trousers as we continue into the building up the stairs. As we get to the top of the stairs me, Arthur, and Del head to the right, parting with Fia and Theo. Our classes were mostly done my grade but we had home room today so they separated us by houses. The three of us turned to open the doors to our home room. The doors were tall but surprisingly easy to open, not weighing as much as we all thought they would. I was the first to enter the room. We were some of the first to arrive. Two other people sat in the chairs that were arranged in grade order. Since my brothers were older then me they went to rows further towards the window as i sit in the center isle, behind one of the two people who were here before us. The desks were kind of uncomfortable but i didnt mind because they matched the school. They were old wood desk where the seat was connected to the desk on the right hand side with a hook on the back of the chair for your bag. The wood and varnishing was obviously old and worn. I looked around the classroom i had only been in once before, when i was to shellshocked to be able to take a good look at my surroundings. There were five tall windows all along the left side of the room, reaching from about a metter off the ground all the way to the ceiling. They gave a beautiful view of the sea with the town in the corner. The rest of the room was similar to the entryway. Tall ceilings, bookshelves along the right side of the wall, floor to ceiling like the windows. The front of the classroom was covered with a huge chalkboard and a professor's desk the length of it, also made out of worn wood. The back wall was boring, just plain white with a storage room door that didn't really fit in with the rest of the room but I didn't pay much attention to that.
Sorry for the filler chapter but I felt the school and town needed a chapter to themselves so it paints a more clear image:)
