Soon the professor entered the room. A couple dozen students were in the room by then, but that didn't even fill half the room.

"Good morning, im glad to see at least some of my students like school enough to show up early," the professor set her books down on the long desk. She pushed her glases up higher on her nose to take a look at who all had arrived before her. She was tall and dressed in a mauve, floor length scarf and a dress that matched in color and length. She looked young, to young to be in a town like this and teaching. She filled the room with anxiety as she anxiously fiddled with her scarf. The only thing that didn't match was a short blue pagan vail. Most religions had faded out so it was odd to see someone who still believed in something other then the belief that the world would shortly be consumed by evil. As I was stairing out the window the only thing that could drag me back to looking at the front of the room was four boys yelling as they ran in.

"I thought you said we were late!" one of the boys yelled at the one in front of the goup. He had obviously noticed the lack of students.

"I though we were!" The leader impatient yelled back at the first boy. The rambunctious bunch took seats in the second row. They were only in their second year and looked like they were from the city. The obviously had escaped as me and my brothers had. They couldn't even memorize the class times. But in their defense school did start later then usual on assemble days. More and more students began to fill the room and after a while the whole room was full except for just one or two seats.

"All right," The professor stood up form her desk and walked around it. Teachers always had a habit of doing this, I think they do it to feel closer to the students or something along the lines.

"As most of you know your end of year tests will be starting soon, everyone who will be graduating needs to take a lot more time on these tests for they will help you in the future," The young teacher continued. I had heard some students to my left talking about her. Apparently her name was professor Anabeth Fall. Students in the farthest row began to groan as none of them wanted to take long boring end of year tests, even if it did mean better future for them.

"And to everyone except last years, you wont be having class on wednesday next week," everyone began to cheer and holler from the news.

"But!" Ms.Fall interrupted the excitement.

"You will be having to take a mandatory test in the town center," she smiled. She was showing the exact opposite emotion than everyone else in the room. Students began slouching in their chairs and canceling plans they had shortly disscused with their friends.

"Why," a first years hand shot up and they asked without being called on. The teacher stumbled over her words trying to explain.

"I, well, i cant exactly tell you," she gave a small smile before it turned into a fown of empathy. Students once again began to yell in protest.

"If we have to take a big test shouldnt we at least be allowed to know what it's for or what its about!?" a fourth year exclaimed from the back of the room as people began to cheer in agreement. The teacher let out an audible sigh that you could probably have heard from the entry way of the school.

"If i knew i would tell you," She exclaimed. The whole class shushed at her explanation. They couldn't argue over lack of knowing. The room was filled with oh's. The silence and wonder was broken by the bell. Everyone began quickly standing up and rusing out of the room to their next class. I quickly shot up from my desk, plucking my bag off the hook it was on and quickly jogging to the door. I was about to make my way out the door when a herd of people pushed and shoved to get out the door first. The huddle was filled with anxiety as we all would be counted absent if we were late to our first period class. I was getting shoved and tossed around in the croud as people rushed in and out.

"Ebony!" I heard someone yell my name, a familiar voice.

"Arthur?" I yelled back in response as I tried to stand on my toes to find where his shouting was coming from.

"Hey," a strong hand landed on my shoulder making me jump as i hadn't expected for him to be behind me.

"Sorry," Arthur instantly apologized for scaring the shit out of me. I nod as it was to loud for him to hear me if i had said anything. He grabbed my arm and dragged me out of the room into a clearing in the hallway. He was rather tall and well built so it was easy for him to get past the crowd. I was strong too but my height didn't match so it was harder to shove people side to side.

"I got to rush, see you at break," Arthur let my bicep go as he sprinted down the hall. I went the same way but i rushed down the stairs as he went straight. I grab the railing as i run down the stairs as fast as my legs would let me. Suddenly i feel myself step on the next stair with only my heel as i curse i feel myself fall forward. I squeezed my eyes shut as i tried to tighten my grip on the railing. I open my eyes as i had steadied myself on the railing, both my hands now grasping to it. I sigh in relief and continue down the stairs. I make a sharp left turn making my way to the back of the first floor to the dark corner my first class was in. the corner the class was in was underneath the hall of the second floor so it was a darker than the rest of the building. I made my way into the room finally making my way down to a walk. I breath heavily taking my usual seat in the back of the room. Once i sit down a couple other students walk as calmly as they can into the room. One of them i recognized as my seat partner. He came to my left and sat down in the desk next to mine.

"I saw you trip on the stairs. You alright mate?" he handed me a note he had pre-writen that he had pulled out of the side pocket of his school bag. He kept his eyes on the front of the class room. I blushed slightly not knowing form what. He wasn't really my type at all but maybe it was him calling me mate and noticing my embarassing myself but waited till we were somewhere else to bring it up in order not for me to feel even worse about my idiotic tripping. I lean over to the left to tap his desk. He suddenly shoots his head towards me. He didn't seem te expect a response other then a note back. I smile and gave him a thumbs up. Couldn't really talk since the teacher was at the font of class, jotting down notes. He smiled back at me then turned back to facing the front. He rested his chin in his hand as he continued to smile. I kept smiling too. I hadn't really expected someone i'd never even talked to to care about me. I turned my head too as the teacher started to began the lesson.

sorry for all the filler but trust me its for a reason;)
