The next day had came. As per the agreement Kimikyo was permitted to go to the Glowing Sea. She had found herself in Goodneighbor to gather supplies and to request that Hancock join her to which he agreed. With enough supplies to last for a month, along with a hazmat suit, the two had set out. "You're really going to do this?" Hancock was just as sceptical as the rest. "I am." "You know there's nothing wrong with being a ghoul." He put his hands in his coat pockets, feeling pretty upset that she was trying to change the ghouls. "There is when you go feral. When you attack innocent people, who were just resting for a night." Hancock looked at her, he knew all too well what she was talking about. Maccready only told maybe two people about it at most in his life. Her expression was serious and full of an anger. "This is about Creads, isn't it?" She only nodded at his question. "You're crazy, kiddo." He laughed, trying to break the tension in the air. "But hey if you can stop us from going feral then that's alright by me. Though if you can make me a glowing ghoul that'd be better! I've always wanted to be one." She rolled her eyes as she shoved him away playfully. "Sure, Hancock, whatever you want."
The two made it to the waypoint that was there. "This is it." Kimikyo looked at the door that had a note nailed to it. "Kind of ominous." Hancock joked as she read the note. "It's from Doctor Li. She says to stay safe and gave me a radio frequency to use." She opened the door to see a bunk bed, lab station, and two crates of extra supplies. "They really set you up." Hancock walked into the house. "Dibs on top bunk!" He shouted as he tossed his bag on it. "What are you twelve?" She walked over to the radio, tuning it to the frequency. "This is Kimikyo, checking in. Is anyone there?" It took a moment but Nora responded. "Kimi, so nice to hear from you. I'm glad you made it there in one piece. Do you like the set up?" "I do. Thank you all for allowing me to do this." "You're going to help a lot of people, humans and ghouls alike, so it's the least we could do. Your month starts tomorrow so make sure to rest and get ready, okay?" "Will do, ma'am." "Oh, Yuriko gave me a message for Hancock." Kimikyo stepped away from the radio, looking at him. "Well I'm here, what is it?" "It was-" Before she could finish Yuriko had jumped on. "Don't you fucking teach her any more jokes, or puns and keep your drug usage away from her!" Kimikyo furrowed her brow at how her sister was still hovering over her. "Yea, yea, Koko-" "Don't ever call me that again." "Look it's late and we haven't had dinner so we're hoping off of here. Try not to worry about me too much." Hancock flipped the station before looking at Kimikyo, the two couldn't help but laugh.
The two unpacked their bags while a simple stew cooked. "So what is your plan here?" He asked her. "First, we'll scout it out. Find the hot spots for ghouls and high levels of radiation. Hopefully it'll only take two days at most to find enough spots. From there we'll try to catch one." "Catch one?" "Sadly." She looked uneasy at the idea. "But I will need to study one, see what I can learn from them up close. See if I can't find what makes them feral." "So you're not going to kill it?" "Not if I can avoid it but I should also study a dead one." She looked up at him, an akward smile on her face. "This must seem weird, huh?" "A bit but hey, you're doing it to help people." "That's true but I don't like the thought of this. Of expirementing on a living ghoul and opening a dead one." She hugged herself, looking away with uncertainty. "Hey as long as they're feral I don't see any harm in it. At least it's not me or Daisy." He laughed, trying to lighten the mood once more but he was still put off by it all.
In the following morning Kimikyo was awoken by the radio being switched back on. "Up and at 'em, sunshine. The sooner we get going, the sooner we can get results!" She looked at a chipper Hancock before throwing her pillow at him. "Then turn around so that I can change." "What? I can't watch the show." "You're absolutely horrible. Of course you can't watch. I'm a taken woman." "Damn, was hoping you'd be a little rebelious without them hovering over you." He laughed as he left the house. She quickly changed into the hazmat suit and packed a satchel of medicines, her note book, needles, and test tubes. "Ready?" "Ready." She waited until they were closer to the Sea to slip the hood of the suit on. "Will you be okay, Hancock?" "I'll be fine. Radiation doesn't really affect me anymore." She nodded to him.
