Chapter Four

3rd person POV, Keefe

He was going to do it.

He was ready.

He was going to ask Sophie Foster out on a date.

Their first date. He was planning on a romantic date, in a restaurant in Atlantis. While he was planning it, Biana was going to distract her. But before all that, he needed to ask. He leaped over to Havenfield, and found Edaline.

"Oh, hey Edaline! Do you know where Sophie is?" he asked her.

"She just left with Dex to play Base Quest at Everglen." she told him. "Why do you need her?" Edaline asked, curious.

"Uhh... just want to talk to her." Edaline raised an eyebrow, but went back to feeding the animals. Keefe leaped over to Everglen, and found Biana, Fitz, Dex, Marella, and Sophie, sitting in a circle on the ground, chatting to one another. "Oh, hey Keefe! Wanna play Base Quest with us?" Biana asked.

"Obviously! I'm practically the Base Quest King!" he replied with a smirk. He sat down in an empty space between Sophie and Biana.

"Let's get Linh and Tam!" Biana suggested. Everyone agreed, because the more players the better. While she was hailing them, he tried to start a conversation with Fitz.

"Hey! Long time no see, Fitzy!" he jokingly said, with a smirk.

Fitz mumbled something, and glared at me when no one else was looking. Keefe couldn't help glaring back at him. What was his problem? Sophie turned around and the three of them sat in silence.

"Hey Fitz." she said tentatively. Fitz smiled awkwardly at her.

"Hey Sophie." Things were very awkward. Thankfully, before things got any more awkward, Biana was done hailing Tam and Linh.

"They'll be here soon!" she informed them. "Great!" Everyone responded excitedly.

Tam and Linh arrived, and they started the game. On the guarding team there was Sophie, Tam, Biana, and Fitz, and on the questing team there was Dex, Linh, Keefe, and Marella. They decided all abilities were allowed, just no inflicting or setting anything around on fire.

When the game started, both teams charged. Biana vanished, and when no one was looking, she reappeared and tagged Dex.

Tam jumped out of the shadows, and almost tagged Marella, but missed and fell on the ground. Keefe ran past him and stopped to laugh at him.

Big mistake.

Sophie jumped out from a Pure. He toppled over, with Sophie on top of him. They rolled down a hill, and landed on top of each other.

They both got up off the ground, and Keefe knew it was time to ask her. "Sophie... would you like to... go out with me?" he asked tentatively.

"Yes yes yes!!!" Sophie exclaimed excitedly. "Oh, and one more thing... TAG!" she yelled, tagging him on the shoulder.

"Oh Foster!" He laughed, giving in.

Five minutes later, Sophie's team had won. Sophie, Tam, Biana, and Fitz were celebrating, and only rubbing it in a lot!

Afterwards, they decided it was about time for them to start heading home. "Aww, do we have to? I was just going to suggest a game of bramble!" Marella whined.

"Ooh that would be fun!" exclaimed Keefe, agreeing with her.

"Don't worry, there will be other times," Biana reassured them with a smirk. "I promise."

Two Days Later

Havenfield

Keefe walked towards Havenfield, hoping Sophie was home. He knocked on the door, nervously. He waited a few seconds, then Edaline opened the door.
