3rd person POV, Keefe

It had been two days since his return from the Healing Center.

Two days after the party at Everglen, set up to celebrate his return.

Two days not having to ask himself the same question over and over, Does she like me back?

During the party, Sophie and himself had finally confessed how they felt about each other, though they were the only ones who knew, hopefully.

Keefe was going to ask her out. Not on an official date, or at least not yet. They had both decided after all, to tell Biana.

Only Biana.

So, with Biana's help, Keefe had set up a special picnic under the panakes tree. It was time. He light leaped over to Havenfield and Edaline (thankfully not Grady) answered the door. "Keefe! What brings you here?" Edaline exclaimed.

"Can I see Sophie?" he asked.

"Sure, she's in her room."

"'Kay, thanks Edaline!" Keefe walked over to Sophie's room, knocked, and heard a soft "Come in."

3rd person POV, Sophie

Sophie was on her bed looking through her old photo album that she got when she was living with the humans.

She found photos of them at the beach, opening Christmas presents, and them celebrating birthdays together. She found an image from her 8th birthday, which was Harry Potter themed. They had chocolate cake and colorful fruit punch.

She started crying quietly, knowing her human family were having fun not even knowing she existed.

Other than Amy, of course.

She got lost in thought, but just then she heard a knock on the door.

It's probably just Grady back early from feeding Verdi, she thought. The T-rex was still adjusting to her vegetarian diet, and it normally took a while to feed her.

"Come in." she said quietly.

Instead of Grady, or even Edaline, she found Keefe at the door. Her eyes were red and puffy, but she was too sad to feel embarrassed.

"Hey Foster. You ok there?" She sniffed.

"Yeah, I just found my old photo album from my... human family."

She was crying again now. Keefe sat down beside her, and she cried into his shoulder.

"Hey, it's ok Foster. I'm here." he comforted her. He hugged her and Sophie hugged him back, and said softly to him, "Thank you.".

She soon stopped crying and put away the photo album.

"Oh, I almost forgot, there's something I want to show you," Keefe said to her.

"Just close your eyes!"

Sophie wondered what it was, but closed her eyes as he told her. Keefe led her outside, and told her to open her eyes.

"Wow." It was all Sophie could say. Keefe had laid out a beautiful picnic, right under the panakes tree.

"Do you like it?" he asked, hopefully.

"I love it! It's so beautiful! Thank you so much, Keefe!" she exclaimed, happily. They sat down at the trunk of the tree, and Keefe opened up the picnic basket.

He took out a big plate of...

"Mallowmelt!" Sophie was very happy; she loved mallowmelt!

She reached for a slice, and was about to take a bite, when she felt something hit her. She looked over at Keefe, ready to throw another slice of the heavenly treat.

"Oh no you didn't!" She quickly threw her slice, and hit Keefe. Right in his hair!

"How dare you ruin The Hair! Foster's getting feisty!" he yelled.

Soon, they were both covered in mallowmelt, and laughing. Keefe helped brush it off Sophie, and Sophie leaned in to brush it off Keefe, and Keefe caught her in a kiss.

"I love you, Foster." said Keefe, softly.

"I love you too." Sophie quietly said. They hugged, and sat down, to watch the sunset.

"Isn't it beautiful?" Sophie said.

"You know what else is beautiful?" Keefe asked.

"What?" Sophie said blushing.

"The Hair!" said Keefe, smirking. Sophie playfully punched him, and leaned her head on his shoulder.

"It is, though." Keefe whispered to her.

"Sure." said Sophie, rolling her eyes. She wished it would never end, yet soon Keefe said: "I should go now, Daddy Dearest will be wondering where I was, and Ro already knows."

"Wait a second, how long has she known you liked me?" Sophie questioned. "I'm allowed to have some secrets, aren't I?" Keefe said playfully.

"So since she became your bodyguard, basically." Sophie said.

"Aw come on! How did you know?" Keefe whined playfully. Sophie smirked.

"I knew I'd start rubbing off on you soon!" Keefe smirked.

"Uh, no you're not!" Sophie protested.

"Well, see you soon Foster!" Keefe light leaped back home, but not before planting a small kiss on Sophie's forehead.

She smiled, and went inside to climb into bed.

Hope you somewhat enjoyed this pretty short chapter :)
