Seeing Him Again

🔴Red🔴
"A battle tree?" You asked. Nurse Joy nodded, "It's been recently set up here on Poni Island and is being run by two former Kanto champions. "Interesting..what do you think Poli?" 'Poli!' You smiled, "We don't really battle..but it would still be cool to check out. Where is it?"

Nurse Joy gave you the directions to the Battle Tree and you set out with your team. You hummed along while you walked with your Poliwhirl when you heard arguing up ahead. "C'mon man, you're gonna have to talk to challengers you know!" Silence. "Look, someone's coming! Could be a challenger, try talking to them!" You got closer and saw two men standing there, one of which you recognized. "Red?" You asked and stepped closer to the two. Red had a look of shock in his face and pulled out his phone and typing away before holding it out. "[NAME]. IT'S GOOD TO SEE YOU AGAIN." You smiled, "It's good to see you too." Your Poliwhirl ran up to him and tried playing with him, but Red stood there awkwardly. "You know Red?" The other guy asked. You turned your focus to him, "He saved my Poliwhirl from getting crashed into by a Mantine Surfer, he's my hero!" Red blushed and the other guy laughed, "Oh so You're the girl he was talking about! Well my name's Blue!" "Good to meet you. And Red, you talk about me?" You teased, making Red blush more. "HE WANTED TO KNOW WHERE I WAS THAT DAY" You nodded in understanding. "WHAT ARE YOU DOING OUT HERE?" "Oh, Nurse Joy told me about the new Battle Tree and I thought I'd come check it out. You guys know where it is?" Blue smiled wide, "Yep! We're actually the heads of the battle tree!" You stared at them both, "You two were the former Kanto champions?" "Yep! I was champion before Red beat me!" You looked at Ted, "You guys must be string! That's cool Red!" Red looked away and typed in his phone, "WE'LL TAKE YOU TO THE BATTLE TREE" "That would be great!" You walked ahead with Red while Blue struggled behind, smirking about this recent development.

🔵Blue🔵
"Let's see..if we're here, then the Viridian gym is...this way!" You looked up from the map you finally got a hold of. 'Victree!' You followed your designated path and thought about Blue. You had gotten the map once you returned to the Pokemon Center so didn't contact him about getting around Viridian, but maybe there was still some stuff he knew about the city that you didn't. You might give him a call later, but you first wanted to meet the city's gym leader.

You approached the building and pushed your way inside, where you saw a lot of bright flashing arrows all over the floor. "Uh.." "Welcome! Here to challenge the gym leader?" A man with glasses stood near the entrance. "Oh, not quite, I just wanted to meet them. Are you one of the challenge assistants?" "That's right! But I'm sorry to say the gym leader isn't here right now. But he should be back soon." "Ah ok, is it OK if I wait here?" "Of course!"

You talked with the assistant for a long time while waiting for the leader. He was just giving your Victreebel some attention when the doors to the gym opened and you saw a familiar face. "Blue?" "Oh hey [name]! I was wondering when I would hear from you!" "I was just thinking about calling you actually, but I wanted to meet the gym leader here first." The assistant looked between you two, "You didn't tell her Blue?" Blue shrugged, "It didn't come up." "Wait..are you..?" Blue smirked, "Allow me to formerly introduce myself, Blue Oak. Gym leader of the Verdian City gym! Did you come for a challenge?" You smiled, "Nope! I just wanted to meet you, but if You're free, think you can show me around?" "I think I can do that! Follow me!"

🪨Brock🪨
You were training your newly caught Clefairy on route 3, when you had decided to take a break to eat. "Come on out everyone!" You released your team and let them run and play around while you got food ready. Clefairy began playing with your Rattata and Porygon while you out some sandwiches together for all of them. "Seems like you found a Clefairy, that's good to see." You jumped at the voice and turned to see Brock coming closer. "O-oh hey! Yes I caught one..thanks again for helping us." "It was my pleasure, have you been training it?" You nodded, "That's what we've been doing most of the day, but I wanted to take a break for lunch." You thought for a moment, "W-would you like to join us? As repayment for yesterday?" Brock smiled, "You really don't owe me anything, but I'd still like to join you if that's ok." You blushed and nodded, beginning a sandwich for him as well while he released his pokemon to join yours.

"Oh! So you're that Brock! The leader of Pewter City gym!" Brock laughed, "That's me. I come to Mt. Moon to train, that's what I was doing when you ran into me." You flushed in embarrassment, "Hope we didn't disturb your training regiment.." Brock waved you off, "That fight was good training for us, it worked out." "Thats good...do you think you could help me train up Clefairy?" "I don't mind at all, but let's eat first, this looks great!" "Go ahead, I'm gonna give everyone their food first, and I've got extra for yours too." "Thanks, they'll like that." You smiled and handed the food to all the pokemon.

The training session went well and you could see the improvement your Clefairy made. "You did wonderful! Take a nice long rest!" You returned Clefairy to its ball while Brock did the same with his Geodude. "Thanks Brock! That helped a lot!" You smiled brightly, making Brock flush. "Anytime at all, it's always nice facing strong opponents. You ever need another training partner, just stop by my gym!"

⚡️Surge⚡️
You didn't catch the Zapdos. By the time you found its nest in the power plant it had flown off somewhere else. You were sure it would return, but you had time before that happened. You almost wanted to blame that muscle man, but he did still save you and your slowpoke. To pass the time, you decided to head to Vermillion City and see if the S.S. Anne was back at dock. "Alright Slowpoke, let's get everyone to the Pokemon Center then go to the pier." 'Slow~'

Once you got your team back from Nurse Joy, you head back into town. "Hey! It's you!" You recognized that voice. When you looked for the source, you saw the muscle man walk up to you. "Did you get it?" You crossed your arms, "No, something scared it off. But it'll be back, just gotta wait it out." "Ah, that's too bad. Then what are you doing here? Here to challenge the gym?" You huffed, "No, Slowpoke and I don't necessarily battle." "Too bad, I was looking forward to crushing you." You stared at him, "You're the gym leader here?" He puffed out his chest, "The lieutenant of lightning! Lt. Surge, but just call me Surge." "[Name]. So you're an electric specialist?" "That's right, and one of the tougher gym leaders in the gym challenge!" You stared at him blankly, "Is that supposed to impress me?" Surge looked shocked, "You think you can say those things to me?" You stared back. You two had a staring contest for a few moments, before Surge let out a loud laugh. "You've got guts talking me like that, I like that! Plus going into the power plant with a water type is also gutsy." You let out a ghost of a smile, "Well..thanks again for saving us at the power plant. Hey since you're the gym leader, do you know of the S.S. Anne is back?" Surge nodded, "Sure is, and I happen to have two tickets on board. I suppose I could offer it to you." Your eyes lit up. "Really?" Surge laughed again, "Come on [name], hope you're not as slow as that pokemon of yours." "HEY!"

🐉Lance🐉
You're schedule became pretty packed after the Indigo League. TV appearances, interviews, signing events. This was your least favorite part of being champion. You would much rather be battling other trainers, especially Lance. You had been itching to fight him for a long time now. It's been a month since you became champion and you haven't fought him.

You groaned while you sat a table at the Celadon department store, waiting for another autograph event. "[Name] are you ready?" The department manager asked, and you shook your head. "Not quite, can I have a few more minutes?" She sighed, "Ok, but people are getting antsy." You nodded and they left the break room you were waiting in. Maybe you could sneak out? You eyed the door and brought our your Persian. 'Perrrr' "Persian, we gotta sneak out of here and I need you to be my lookout ok?" 'Perr'. You smiled and scratched behind its ears "Ok, let's do this.."

You peeked out from behind the door, where the crowd of people waited. You sent out your Persian to cause a distraction while you snuck out. It ran out and began knocking over some I f the displays and causing a commotion. You took the opportunity to sneak out and head towards the elevator, praying it would be empty. The door dinged as you motioned for your Persian to come back to you. You quickly ran into the elevator and returned it to its ball as the door closed. "That was close..." "What was?" You almost jumped a foot in the air and panicked. You quickly turned around, but calmed down once you saw it was Lance. "Oh...hey, sorry I didn't see you there." "Don't you have an autograph signing?" He asked and you fiddled with your fingers. "I..hate doing these events..so I'm kinda sneaking out to find someone to battle?" Lance stared at you before laughing, "Alright, I'll make sure no one sees you, but in return you gotta battle me again!" You smiled, "It's not for my title is it?" "Not this time, but I will come after it eventually!" "Deal, but let's get out of here first." "You got it."
