Emma
"Do you need a ride?" Joe raised an eyebrow at me.
"Uh-sure." I gave him a small smile. He smiled back and jiggled his keys to signal he was leaving. I followed him to his nice car that was parked down the road from Logan's. Our walk was silent and then we arrived at Joe's car, he surprised me by opening the door for me.
"Wow Joe Cool can be a gentleman." I laughed.
"Oh shut up and get in the car." He laughed back at me.
I slid into the seat and waited for him to get situated on his side of the car. He pulled out of Logans and told me I would need to tell him directions, which I did.
"Question?" Joe glanced at me and then back at the road.
"Oh are we suddenly getting to know each other?" I raised an eyebrow at the man.
"Fiesty." Joe growled at me. Why did I find that kind of hot? Lord help me.
"Sorry Burrow, go ahead ask away." I sighed settling in the seat.
"You and Sam really a thing?" His question took me by surprise.
"No, we were just hanging out." I shrugged, I wasn't going to tell him the whole back story.
"Hmm I have known Sam for a while and he seemed to really enjoy your company." He glanced at me again.
"Joe watch the road." I looked at him.
"I am missy. Nice subject change." He smiled slightly.
"I don't know if it would be a good look if I started dating one of my dads football players within a month of me working for you guys." I shook my head, I knew it wasn't a good look.
"Eh not if you found someone you really like, no harm no foul in that." He shrugged.
"I don't think that's gonna happen." I said looking out the window at all the lights.
"Never know Em, you never know." Joe had never called me Em before, and it was kind of weird to use right now.
After a couple more minutes of driving we pulled up to my house.
"Thanks again for the ride and for sticking up for me tonight. I appreciate it." I gave Joe a genuine smile. Maybe he was cocky and arrogant but he had a sweet side when he wanted to.
"No problem, see you Monday." He offered the same genuine smile. I got out of his car and went inside my house and got settled for the night.
- Monday morning -
"Ready to post about the camp?" Dad asked me once we got settled into our offices on Monday morning.
"Yeah! I will go ahead and do that." I smiled.
"Thanks kiddo, the players should be here any minute. If you wanna come help with practice. I know you don't have a whole lot going on right now." He smiled.
"Sure." I stood up to go to the practice field. On my way out I noticed all the boys had a new hunger in their eyes. Maybe it was because preseason was slowly creeping up and they were now getting mentally prepared.
"What's up Em?" Ja'marr called from the sideline. Defense was practicing right now so all the offense players were hanging out on the sides figuring out plays.
"Not much what about you J?" I smiled, he really was the one closest to me on the team.
"I have some news for you." He laughed like he was up to something. No one was very close to us but Joe. Who sat on the sidelines looking very hot today if I do say so myself.
