"Wait a sec. How big?" Steve asked again. The two middle schoolers had gone over the situation of what they claimed to be a 'Interdimensional pollywog' along with everything that had happened the year before.

"First it was like that." Dustin said while Lucy held her fingers up to Steve and Russell from her spot next to Rylie in the backseat. "Now he's like this." She held her hands up instead. Since she was in the middle seat it was easier for her to show than Dustin.

"I swear to God, man, it's just some little lizard, okay?"

"It's not a lizard, Steve." Lucy groaned.

"How do you know?"

"How do we know if it's not a lizard?" Dustin asked.

"Yeah! How do you know if it's not just a lizard?"

"Because his face opened up and he ate my cat."

Steve waved his head a bit, not knowing how to argue with that.

"So what is it?" Russell turned to the two kids in the back.

"A Demogorgon." Lucy frowned.

"Well. . .That's what Lucy thinks." Dustin added.

Steve pulled up Dustin's driveway, coming to a stop just at the side of the house. The teens all got out and trailed behind Steve to the back of his car where he pulled the bat out of his trunk.

"You keep a bat covered in nails in your trunk?" Russell looked at the boy with confusion.

"So you two sure it's a Demogorgon." Rylie asked with a sigh.

"Yes." "No." The kids said at the same time.

Rylie looked over at her best friend, he was tossing the bat between his hands. "Come on Harrington! I don't want to be out here all night."

Steve motioned at Russell, walking over to the cellar with a shallow sigh. He leaned closer to it, almost tapping it with his bat. "I don't hear shit."

"He's in there." Dustin assured.

"Yeah, we locked him in there this morning." Lucy nodded.

Steve tapped at it with the bat, no noise coming from the alleged creature that was supposed to be down there. He hit the doors harder this time, still nothing. "Alright, listen kid. I swear, if this is some sort of Halloween prank, you're dead." The brunet said to Dustin, shining his flashlight in the kid's eyes. He moved the flashlight to his sister's face, turning to her instead. "And you. . .you're not dead. But you will be grounded."

"It's not." Dustin shook his head vigorously while Lucy shielded her eyes from the light.

"Alright?" He moved the flashlight back to point in Dustin's face.

"It's not a prank. Get it out of my face." Dustin assured, squinting.

"Seriously, Steve, you're gonna blind him." Russell huffed, grabbing the flashlight from him.

"You got a key for this thing, Henderson?" Rylie asked, tilting her head at the boy who was rubbing his eyes and blinking the light away.

"Yeah, here." Dustin dug into his pocket, digging around for a moment before he pulled out a silver key. Steve snatched it from him, opening the lock on the cellar. The Harrington pulled the doors open with a loud creak, looking into the dark cement room.

Russell shone the flashlight down. "H- Here, let me see that." Steve took it from her, holding it in front of him.

Dustin and Lucy looked over from Steve's other shoulder. "He must be further down there." Dustin muttered. "I'll stay up here in case he tries to. . .escape."
