—After Christmas Blues
ALEXANDRIA WHIPPED HER front door open and smiled huge when she seen her favorite person standing there with a smile mirroring hers. She giggled before throwing herself into his arms, clinging to him. She'd been missing him like crazy."Hey, Al," he chortled as he held her up. She pulled away and held his face in her hands looking into his eyes. "I've only been gone for a couple days."
"And it felt like a year," Alexandria complained as he came in and closed the door behind him. "I read your notebook you gave me, and I love it by the way. It was totally corny. Which I loved."
"I'm glad. Max was happy to hear you liked it. She actually helped me with some of the memories," he confessed and Alexandria smiled, knowing what his sister had previously said about the boy.
"That's so sweet, Marcus," Alexandria bubbled which was sort of out of character until recently. The boy had noticed the drastic change in her mood and felt slightly envious of the happiness she exuded into the air. "Are you hungry, thirsty? My Abuela took Eliza out to get clothes and school supplies, so we're pretty much alone."
"Well, I'm a little hungry," Marcus admitted and Alexandria grabbed his hand and lead him to the kitchen. He rolled his eyes at her since she always felt the need to take care of him. "So, how was it?"
"Christmas?" Alexandria asked as she got out the turkey, cheese, lettuce, tomato, and bread. "Well, sort of awkward when it was just me, Eliza and Abuela, but Christmas eve was fun."
"Oh, yeah? What was so different?" Marcus asked quite clueless to the fact that Alexandria basically befriended Ginny that night. He might not be too happy, but Ginny would soon be family.
"Well, my dad and the Miller's came over," she recalled and Marcus raised his eyebrows as he watched her make a sandwich, her hand slapping his hand as he tried to help. "Ginny and I kind of made, like, a truce."
"What kind?" He asked as Alexandria turned around and took a Coca Cola out of the fridge, sliding the cold aluminum can over to him.
"Like, since we're gonna be family and all, we might as well be friends," Alexandria answered and he nodded with zero sign of dislike of the plan, so she took it as his approval, not that she needed it anyways. "How was your grandparents?"
"Lots of Uno and missing you," Marcus replied as Alexandria slid over his sandwich, already putting away the fixings. "Thanks, Al. You really didn't have to."
"It's not a problem. I've been kind of antsy lately anyways. I'm always moving or doing something," Alexandria said, proving the fact by constantly shifting from foot to foot. Marcus nodded slowly before beginning to munch on his sandwich. She was acting quite odd, but he didn't comment on it.

ALEXANDRIA RAPIDLY TAPPED the pencil she held in her hand against the desk she sat at, smiling as Max practically skipped over to the desk beside her since they had Geometry together, and God, did Alex struggle with this class.
