---CHAPTER 4 - WHAT'S COOKING? ---

Nits while clearing her throat.

Nits - Listen I loved someone in my past.

Him - Oohhhh...His tone was off

Nits - Me and Patrick liked each other since childhood, my mom-dad passed away when I was 3. It was Patrick and his family who supported me and raised me. Then as years passed, I started feeling like a burden on them and so I decided to earn money and start living in a PG. The first two months were difficult because it was my first time to leave my beloved ones and live alone. But there I found Krissan! She has been more like my FAMILY for real!

I let out a sign of relief as soon as these words were said.

Him - So why aren't you and Patrick together?

He was so calm and wanted to know everything.

Nits- We were like my fantasy couple... After amma-appa, I never thought someone would love me till that extent. Everything was perfect! That day when I told his parents and him that I am moving out at the PG, they all were upset. I agree they were concerned about me but I wanted to stand on my feet! However, I convinced his mom-dad but convincing Patrick was next to impossible. When I decide something no one can stop me from doing things. It was late evening, his mom-dad were in the living room and he went out for some work. I packed my bags and came down in the hall... I hugged Uncle- Aunty, with tears in my eyes! I never wanted to trouble them .... I left the house.

I got all the flashbacks and had teary eyes. The knock on the door brought me out from dreaming.

Kriss- Nitss babeeee are you okay??? Please open the door.

I put on a jacket and asked him to hide in the balcony.

Kriss - What took you so long to open the door?

She had an eyebrow raised.

Nits - Nothing I was just...

Kriss- Who is that guy?

Nits - U saw him? Listen it's not like you think...he is....

I was cut off! She never listens.

Kriss - Ohh come on Nits, I need to thank him. He took you out of that mess and made u feel comfortable, didn't he?

Nits - Ohh bar thing! I thought of something else...

Kriss - Wait?! What were u thinking? Is there anyone here???

Nits(raising her eyeballs)- No no no no no , not at all!!!

Kriss - Really then let me check!

She starts finding everywhere in our room...

Nits - Kriss don't you trust me? Just leave na nobody is there!

Kriss- Then why are your eyes on the balcony? I wanna check there...

Nits - Kriss no......wait... listen

She opened the window to enter the balcony and I was shocked! He wasn't there, I checked around if he was hanging on some wall or anywhere but no one was there. I looked at Kriss and laughed off...

Nits- See, I told u na. No one is here!

Kriss- Ahhh okk okk! Leave it anyways... Me and Karan are going out tomorrow so will you join us?

Nits- Yeah sure!

I was still in my confused state.

Kriss - You are okay right? Let's sleep then?

Nits - Yeah exactly! Good night!

Kriss - good night baby!

Next day

We woke up, had our breakfast and asked Sid sir if we three could go out, he just said, "Just be back before the sun sets, it's unsafe out there!"

Karan & Kriss had decided a surprise for me but I was still in my own thoughts!

We went to a beautiful cafe which had a river side view, where Karan & Kriss had decorated the balcony with balloons and lights! I was surprised like wtf is today, ohh shit is their anniversary or Krissy's bday?!!! I turned behind and Kriss-Karan yelled HAPPY BIRTHDAY NITS!!!!! I was so surprised... I forgot my own birthday. They hugged me and we blew the candles I saw a bunch of people entering the room while singing, "HAPPY BDAY SONG". It was Sid sir and our fellow mates. It was really a pleasant moment, I felt so overwhelmed! Everyone was celebrating, my eyes caught someone's, yes it was him in the corner of the room. Watching me silently.

He with his eyes signed me to come in the washroom. I went and as soon as I opened the door and moved inside he closed the lights and grabbed me from behind. He softly whispered, "HAPPY BIRTHDAY" ...I just hummed... He turned me and held my chin up.

Him - What happened now, aren't you happy it's your birthday, I mean your friends are here, I am here and....

I cut him off.

Nits- Just shut up! I am confused can't you see?

Him - About what??

Nits - What are you, Patrick? How did u disappear like that last night? Why are things always weird when we r together?

Him - Nits relax it's nothing like that...

Nits - Is it so, then why are the lights closed? Why can't I see you? Why can't I

Until I could finish my sentence, he grabbed my neck, tilted my face and kissed me till I had no breath left!

This time it was a harder kiss, felt like all his frustration was making it harder... Our kiss broke when someone knocked on the door. I went out of the washroom leaving him there.

Kriss- Nits are you okay? U seem down babes...

Nits - Kriss I really don't know!

Kriss - Ayee Nits! Come on it's your b-day and u can ask for anything...so tell me what you want?

Nits - You being in life is the best gift...

Karan - And me??

They laugh till their cheeks pain.

Nits - Oh wait, we are leaving tomorrow, right?

Kriss - Yeah! I wish I could stay for more while here...

Karan - Sure baby, don't worry next time I will book a honeymoon suite for us

Kriss(While blushing)- Shut up K!!!!!

Nits - Guys I want something from y'all

Kriss & Karan - WHAT?!!??!

Nits - A boyfriend

Kriss - Huh? What? Are you okay?

Nits - Of course I am, just get a random guy ....

Kriss - Is it okay if it's one from our classmates?

Nits - Yeah, no issues.

Kriss - U want him to be your fake boyfriend, isn't it?

Nits - Yesss and please do it before 9 pm today, it's the deadline! Tata...

Kriss- K what's wrong with her??

Karan - Ig she had fallen on her head and her memory must be damaged...

Kriss - Shut up yaaar! Now let's go and find a guy for my bestiee....
