Arthur LeywinPOV

"You-you are a...!" I managed to stammer out.

Despite having lived two lives, what my eyes saw, my brain refused to believe. A mystical being that I didn't think could even exist in this world, platted with white plated scales that shines brighter than the jewels in my old world, blond white hair more elucent than the kings and queens in this world and bright golden eyes that would instill fear in everything its eyes gleams over. It stemmed over eight meters high, and was laying on the pale dull ground with its head on it.

A dragon!

Reiterating the fact that I was once a king, still, this being that stood before me now made me embarrassed of even having the nerve to call myself one. No, the one laying on the ground was a being that would make even the most unfaithful heretics bow down in submission.

Yet here it was, in all of its glory... with its head resting on its arm, while its other hand nonchalantly scratched its nose.

What I had failed to notice until now, though, because of the dim lighting in the cave and its body being completely black, was that this being had a gaping hole in the side of it's chest, blood continuously oozing out.

"We finally meet," it repeated showing off its purely white teeth.

I tried getting up, but failed halfway and end up back on my butt, my face still slack from the shock of what my eyes were seeing.

"Bugs will fly into your mouth if you keep it open that wide."

Great. At least it has a sense of humor.

"Haha, mom you're scaring him." A chuckle came out from beside her.

Laying on the same ground the majestic being is currently on right now is a medium-sized white fox. If I count the eyes and hair it's got the same features as its 'mom'. Unlike the dragon, this white fox is emitting next to nothing.

"Yes child I am what you call a dragon," the being said with its eyes seeming to gaze straight through me.

"..."

"It is going to take to a while for me to open a dimensional rift that will transport you to your house, so until then, just be patient and wait here. There are special roots that grow here. You will be able to live off those until I finish, and for the time being, you can talk with Aria if your tired," it sighed.

"I'm Aria, and yes I'm a dragon as well but I shifted to a smaller form for the time being to reserve energy." The fox spoke noticing the confusion written on my face.

"So you guys have several different forms, is what you're saying?" I asked, hoping they wouldn't find it offensive.

"Yes we do, we even have a human form, but for the sake of conserving my energy I've decided to go miniature, as for my mother, well she has a different reason for being a dragon." The fox replied, then continued, "but for the time being why don't you do what my mom suggested and eat from those special roots to grow stronger."

That's right. That's what I was here to do. I managed to regain a bit of my composure and I stood up, walking a little closer to the two.

Giving a courteous bow, I replied, "Thank you for everything you both done for me and what you will do. If there is any way I can repay you, I will do for you whatever is in my power."

"Such good manners for a child. Do not worry; I am expecting neither a favor nor your gratitude. I am simply doing this for my own amusement. Come! Sit here closer to me and keep me company. My daughter is the only person I've talked to in a while," the dragon laughed, patting an area right in between her and Aria for me to sit on.
