It's been five days, five fucking days since I saw Zhi this quiet, and it's annoying. Yes, it's annoying when she's talking non-stop without letting the other person say anything but it's more annoying when she goes all silent.

She has always been the chatty one among us, and seeing her being like this, it's somehow affecting me.

"Zhi? Hey... baby what's the matter with you?" I asked pulling her hand in mine, she was lost. Her body was present with me but her mind was running wild and I could hear her thinking from this distance. Something has been eating her, and I am eager to know what's that.

Sana and Min gave me a look, they too weren't aware of any new occurrence with her.

This was one of those hangouts where we all sat in my room with lots of takeout for them and homemade for me. I hate that I can't handle takeouts.

Her pale skin feels so soft and pure under my touch that it gets red wherever I touch her. Sometimes I resist touching her, afraid I might taint her body. The same goes for her twin sister Min, both the girls so small, so pretty with a button nose.

I'd turn gay for them... 

Yang Zhi and Yang Min belong from a dangerous struct Asian background. Their mother wants them to walk on the same path as her, famous, rich, and capable. Being a famous surgeon at the young age of 32 is what she achieved, with her two beautiful daughters. 

And according to her wish, she wants them to pursue the medical line. She wants them to be as successful as her so that they won't have to be dependent upon any man for their safety and livelihood. Their mother learned the hard way when their father lost his business and now spends every single second of his life drowning in alcohol.

She doesn't even divorce the man because of how her image would be portrayed in society. She would not be the target for obvious reasons... But being in an unfaithful and ruined marriage is a much better status than being a divorcee in the eyes of society. 

Instead of highlighting her well-established career, they would stomp her down for divorcing her husband when he hit rock bottom.

 In my opinion, society sucks, who cares if a woman is well capable of handling herself that she doesn't need a man.

But now, she is demanding her daughters to be as competitive and self-made as she is. Little did she know the burdens she was putting them through is so tiring. I wonder why the girls are suffering.

"It's nothing Y/N, just my mother..." she trailed off, not looking me in the eyes, "she just wants me to," she's contemplating what to say, I know she's more afraid of how I'd react. Biting her lower lip, she looks me in the eye, "She wants me to date this doctor, maybe her assistant, and I'm just paranoid, I guess." Okay, that was certainly unexpected.

I didn't know that their dating life too would be decided by the mom. Why are some Asian parents so forceful when it comes to deciding their child's career, but now forcing them to date, love, or marry someone they chose for them... This is just complete bullshit. We should have the freedom to choose a partner for us.

After all, we would be the ones to spend an entire lifetime with them.

And I feel happy that my father at least gives me that freedom. Maybe it comes from how he managed to marry my mom. Going against society's norms.
