You had woken up with arms still attached to you. A part of you wished that it was still Copia's. Yet by the size, and the weight of the arms you knew that it was Sodo who had captured you back at some point in the night.
He sensed you shift ever so slightly knowing that you were awake.
"Good morning Prioress." You groaned, moving his face away from your ear.
"How many times do I need to tell you, don't call me that." The Fire Ghoul laughed.
"Why do you hate the title so much? It's fitting, plus the fact that you know look the part of the highest ranking female in the Clergy besides Sister Imperator. This whole Church is now run almost exclusively by the Emeritus clan. Besides our own Cardinal, and that Bishop who anyone hardly sees." You shook your head.
"The Bishop sticks to himself or the company of Siblings, mostly because he can't handle the level of chaos that being in the same room as a Papa entails. Terzo can be a bit much when it comes to business issues. He's not stupid, he knows what needs to be done. He just hates being told what to do. Terzo is a diva through and through." You heard a scoff on the side of the room. Knowing that it was the man himself, you raised your middle finger up at him.
"Someone woke up on the wrong side of the floor." Groaning you turned over into your side. Turning your back to get the stiffness out, a few loud cracks coming from your spine at the movement. Raising your arms you stretched out the rest, causing a few more pops to erupt from your joints. Terzo cringed at the noises, the sound irritated his ears more than he could ever explain.
"Stop that, it sounds like you're about to lose a limb."
"Terzo, I'm not going to crack my arm off. It feels good, my joints are stiff after sleeping on the floor." Terzo chuckled.
"Hmm, the Cardinal was stiff too this morning when he woke up, he was in such a rush to get out of here this morning." You could feel your cheeks rushing with blood at the fact that Terzo had come back at some point to see you and Copia cuddling. Terzo noticed your reaction and shook his head.
"I saw how you were curled up to him. You like him. Don't you, mia cara?" He smirked at you. Crossing his arms as he leaned against his door frame. You thought back to the time at your hidden oasis. You were so calm, you were at peace.
"He's friendly, I'm now a combination of an assistant of his, as well as his mentor. It's a strange set of circumstances. I feel like there's a reason why this has happened and I'm not sure why." You looked deep into his eyes. You saw a familiar look to them.
"You're hiding something from me, fratello." You stood up and walked over to him. He backed away from you for a second.
"I'm not hiding anything from you. Why would you think of such things?" You reached out for his shoulder. He quickly ducked out of the way. You went to grab him again but he ducked away again.
"Now I know for a fact that you're hiding something from me Terzo. Why?" You stood up straighter looking into his face. Trying to find any sort of action that could at least help you judge how big of a secret he was hiding from you. The way that his brows creased, his lips flickered from a smirk to a frown, the way his eyes danced around the room away from you. It was a big secret.
"I can't tell you what it is. Lucifer himself bid me not too." You looked at him, your eyes went so wide you could almost feel them popping out of your skull.
"Lucifer told you something about me, that I can't know?" Why must he be so secretive about you? This made no sense.
You paced around the room. The ghouls that stayed didn't say anything, they just watched your elegant figure gracefully waltz around the room.
