Chapter4: New Power

Luz and Gwen stood in a large rectangular room. The walls and ceiling were all a clean white.
"Many of your powers may activate as if they are instinct." Gwen explained. "In order to test this, we are going to have to do something." Gwen started to walk backwards towards the door. "I'm sorry." Gwen quickly shut the door behind her, leaving Luz all alone in the empty room.

For a moment, a silence filled the well lit room. Suddenly, an almost inaudible click echoed from behind Luz. Everything felt as if it were in slow-motion. Luz quickly jumped up, just as a small missile-like object was about to hit her. She quickly landed on her feet, stumbling and barley being able to stabilise herself. Just as Luz had regained her balance, two more missile-like objects shot out of the walls. After this, a small round bomb landed on the floor, slowly bouncing to Luz's feet. Luz stared at the small grey object for a moment but suddenly perked up as she felt something coming. She turned around and caught a small fly betwixt her fingers. She was shocked at what she had just done, but before she had any more time to process, a powerful explosion repealed her towards the wall she was facing. Fire filled the room for a second but did not burn the room. The only damage was to Luz herself.

Gwen rushed in and grabbed hold of Luz, who lay weakly on the floor. She quickly rushed out, holding Luz in her arms.

Amity walked around the school cautiously. At first, with all the adrenaline, the impact and complications of what Amity had done to Boscha hadn't kicked in, but once things had cooled down and Amity saw neither boscha or her lackeys had come into school that day it truly hit Amity.

She had hurt someone and enjoyed it. Amity Blight had inflicted pain onto another human being and was delighted when she heard the sound of brittle bones snapping and the spectacular visuals of blood painting her knuckles.

Everyone had heard of what had happened that day, and the whispers of rumours and half truths flooded the hall with a mist of uncertainty and fear.

Those who had seen the sudden and brutal beating of Boscha and her friends were still in shock of what they had witnessed. To them, Amity was a monster, and in a desperate attempt of survival, Amity was going to keep it that way.
