Brendon arrived at Oscar's house and let himself in. The house was bigger than it looked out the outside with a black leather couch in the center of the living room. He sat down on the couch and took out his phone to pass the time. After a few minutes, he decided that he should cook something for Oscar. "Maybe I'll just make him some pasta or something simple."
Brendon was a really good cook. Actually, that was an understatement. He taught Damien how to cook when they were both young. Brendon always loved making someone happy with a warm plate of food. He grabbed some noodles and Alfredo sauce. He dug through the freezer and found no shrimp. "Maybe he's allergic. That's ok, I'll substitute!" Brendon found meatballs and decided to use those as a side, since he didn't think barbecue sauce would mix well with Alfredo.
As he pulled the meatballs out of the oven, Oscar came home. They walked in and undid their small bowtie, making Brendon smile and his face go a pale pink. "Hey there!" They made their way towards the kitchen with a smile. "Hiya!" Brendon said before mentally scolding himself. 'Play it cool Bren' he thought to himself. "Did you— did you make me dinner...?" "Uh... yeah. I thought you might be hungry after such a long day." Brendon nervously played with his hair. "Oh silly, I wanted to cook for you." The two laughed while Oscar got out two plates. "I do appreciate it though. The noodles look absolutely delicious! The meatballs do too."
The pair got their food, two glasses of wine and sat down on the couch. "This is really good Brendon! When did you learn to cook like this?" Oscar mused. "Cookings always been one of my favorite hobbies, even when I was young." Brendon replied while flashing a small smile. "Wow, you should open a freakin restaurant or something then. This is great." Brendon laughed, "it's just pasta and meatballs silly". "Still, it's great hun". Oscar replied while eating a forkful of Alfredo.
They continued on with small talk until they finished eating. The pair washed up and went back to the couch, Brendon laying his head on Oscar's shoulder. They put their arm around Brendon and pulled him closer. He closed his eyes and took a deep sigh with a small smile. He looked up at Oscar and their eyes met.
"You enjoying yourself darlin'?" "Mhm! Thank you for inviting me over! I haven't really... had anyone interested after my transition. I tell Damien to put himself out there all the time, I guess I've been guilty of the same." Oscar nodded along while Brendon continued. "I mean, I don't usually go to bars or gay clubs or anything. All the fun stuff I want to. I tell myself that it's because I don't have the time but, I have this weird mix of anxiety about it."
"It's ok to be nervous" Oscar said. "Most of my family doesn't know I'm nonbinary or gay. I'm more worried about upsetting my mom. She thought I would do something great like be a doctor, not a bartender." "My parents sent me to law school. I quit after a month." Brendon laughed, maybe he wasn't so different from anyone else. He was never bullied for his transitioning, most people accepted that Brendon and the person they loved were the same.
When he came out, it was no surprise to his friends or anyone really besides his parents. It's not as if people didn't like him, in full honesty, women found him attractive. He told himself to not let labels define him, therefore he didn't have one. All he really knew is that he found very few women personally attractive in that way.
"Hey" Oscar said slowly. They cupped Brendon's face and gently kissed his lips. Brendon was surprised but melted into it. It got heated with Brendon getting bold. He crawled his way into Oscar's lap, never breaking the kiss. "You've got me starving baby..." Oscar said as they picked up Brendon. They brought him up to their room. They laid Brendon down and kissed their way down his neck. Brendon moaned lightly and closed his eyes. Oscar unbuttoned their shirt and took it off.
Oscar traced their finger over the scars on his chest. "Did it hurt?" They asked. "Only for a month or so. Thankfully it healed super well" Brendon said. Oscar put their hands on Brendon's sides and rubbed the scars with their thumbs. "You're so strong. Scars tell stories you know, I think these say how handsome and brave you are." Brendon kissed Oscar's forehead before they started kissing on Brendon's chest again. Brendon was not new to this, but this being the first time with Oscar definitely made it special.
