Budo's POV
I stood by the rail on the rooftop, gazing at the clouds ahead of me, while peacefully eating my food. Usually at this time, my mind would be blank. However, I was uneasy and had several thoughts ringing through my head at once.

One of them being Ayano. I was confused, confused about my feelings for her, confused about her feelings for me.

'Wait, what am I thinking? Ayano made it very clear that Taro's the only one she's interested in, and that she's physically incapable of loving someone else.'

Now that I think about it, I shouldn't even be thinking of how Ayano feels about me. I don't have feelings for her anymore... I think.

I tried to stop myself from thinking about her further, but that just enabled my brain to produce more thoughts about her.

I started to imagine her, standing by the cherry blossom tree peacefully, her hair open, cascading down her shoulders, and cherry blossoms delicately falling down on her hair.

I could feel my face turn warm, just by the thought of seeing her there, standing in front me, not moving an inch, parting her lips only to say four words,

"Budo, I lov-"

Wait, I'm doing it again, what's wrong with me? I buried my face in my palm, and tried to think of something else.

'I can't like her, remember all the horrible things she did? Would I really want a murderer to be the one I spend my future with?'

Even after asking myself such a dilemmatic question, I still found myself saying yes. No matter how hard I tried to push aside my feelings for her, they still remained.

"Out of all the people in the world, it had to be her..."

Nobody's POV-

A wave of gloom washed over the boy's face as he accepted the undesirable situation he was put in.

Unrequited love never fails to take a jab at the heart, and it surely didn't miss with Budo either.

He tried to think about something else to take his mind off of it.

That's when he recalled the fact that Sho's birthday was the next day. He would be excited since Sho was known to throw crazy parties and someone or the other ends up puking on his couch, but this time the thought didn't seem to excite him as much.

'Wait, would Ayano be there?'

Budo found himself circling his thoughts back to Ayano, but he didn't try to snap himself out of it this time.

He looked at his phone and saw that class was about to start soon.

He knew he could've waited till after class to look for her, but regardless, he foolishly ran in pursuit of Ayano, not only because he wanted to ask her if she was coming, but also because he found himself unable to stay away from her for long.

Ayano's POV-

I was watching Senpai peacefully eat his food, sitting by the fountain.

'Just go and talk to him, you've talked to him before.' I told myself, deeply inhaling.

I wanted to go over to him and make conversation, but for some reason my body wouldn't let me. I froze, and remained standing behind the tree, continuing to observe him.

'What's wrong with me?'

While I was battling myself to go over and talk to him, I noticed a dark haired girl with long black spider-web arm warmers come up to him. I squinted to get a better view, and saw that it was none other than Oka Ruto, president of the Occult Club.
