I'm currently in a mansion that makes my own seem like a playground. Like, what?

It was no walk in the park getting here, let me fuckin' tell ya.

While Mr. Royalty was getting out of his pissed off attitude, he switched over to humor. His idea of humor makes me question his sanity.

He took me for a car ride.

And not just any care ride. I had to hold onto the 'oh shit handle'  for dear life. I truly thought I was going to die then.

However, I wasn't given such luck.

After our little 'joy ride', I ended up here. Here being an enormous room. The door wasn't locked, but that didn't mean I was just going to run out of here like a bat out of hell and possible get caught somewhere along the lines of escaping and getting totally and utterly lost. I also didn't want to get accused of anything. Like breaking shit, if I was caught, just to kill them with it. I also wouldn't call it "caught" or "escaping" since the door was, again, open.

So here I am. In his  enormous mansion, in his  giant room, and he couldn't even grace  me with his presence.

Some mate.

I made my way to the window and looked out. The window itself was large, taking up the floor to the ceiling, but the view made it worth it. It overlooked a small grove, the forest beyond that. It was peaceful in a way.

"It's my favorite view too." A deep voice sounded, startling me.

I snorted at myself. Some werewolf I must be, huh?

I turned to face him, and would've slammed into his chest due to how close he was, had he not prevented me from doing so.

"Careful." Adonis said simply, his hand slipping from around my waist.

I growled, getting frustrated. "I wouldn't have to be if you weren't so goddamned close!"

I was sick and tired of him always making me feel like a child.

"Can I not enjoy the company of my mate?" He asked, sounding more as if he was talking to himself more than to me.

I didn't expect that sort of reply, so I wasn't surprised when I felt the blood rush up to my face, betraying me.

Adonis chuckled, cupping my chin and gently turning it so he could get a better look I'm guessing. "Aren't you just a cute thing." His mostly colored gray orbs held amusement.

I slapped his hand away and pushed him back. I didn't like how weak I felt.

I didn't like not being able to control myself.

Adonis's face didn't show surprise or anger. In fact, it only showed so much amusement he was practically glowing from it.

I was now making bets with myself as to how long it'll take for me to wipe it all off his damned face.

"Why must you be so hostile?" humor poured thick off his words.

"Why not?" I asked flatly.

It was quiet for a moment, the silence only breaking until he spoke again. "Don't you want me?" he asked seriously, his voice laced with an unknown emotion.

I blinked, taken aback by his sudden change of mood, and question.

Of course I wanted him, he's my mate. But how do I explain that I hated the feeling he gave me? How weak and vulnerable he left me after a single line of his speech or touch?

I opened my mouth, but when nothing came out, I'd only closed it again. This happened several times before he spoke again.

"I see." Adonis said, his voice hinting that this mind was elsewhere. "I'm sorry you feel that way, but I can't let you reject me." He said simply with a shrug as he walked over to his bed and sat down on the edge, running a hand through his dark hair.

My wolf stirred at the sight of our mate so distressed. Before I could form a sentence, he was speaking again.

"If you leave, don't bother to lock the door, I'm expecting my Beta. For now, I'm going to sleep." Adonis said as he shot me a lingering look before sprawling out on his bed and closing his eyes.

I don't know how long I just stood there and watched him. I only moved when I was sure he was sleeping, leaving a note on his nightstand before walking out of his room and closing his door silently.

I'd gotten lost a couple times before actually finding my way out. When I did, I headed directly toward the forest, shifting as soon as my foot hit the first sign of the soil.

I knew where I was going, I only hoped I wasn't going to run in on anything.
