"Back then, fallen Gods manifested into demons which prompted Rex Lapis to send the Yaksha to protect Liyue. Over time, the Yaksha accumulated massive amounts of negative karma, some of which manifested into a plague that swept through Liyue, killing many in its path. Paranoid, the people believed it to be a curse from the Gods, but a few realized that the plague could be contained by purifying the air and burning infected corpses. These people pioneered a new path and eventually founded the Wangsheng Funeral Parlor. They and their successors would tirelessly maintain the balance between life and death."
Tea Master Liu Su gestured towards Hutao, "Behold, the current owner of the ever so famous Wangsheng Funeral Parlor." People murmured in rumor and amazement, giving side glances to the Director.
You and Hutao quietly listened as Tea Master Liu Su told stories about the Geo Archon and other prominent Liyuen figures. It was intriguing to hear all the different aliases the Archon went by. It seemed that certain groups of people had different names for him, and he simply adapted to all of those titles.
But the name Morax in particular sounded so familiar.
Suddenly, your vision blurred. There was a slight ringing in your ears. The same ringing you heard a few days ago when you passed out on the balcony of Wangshu Inn. You knew right then and there that you were going to faint once more. Hutao suddenly felt a deadly grip on her wrist.
"(Y/n)? Are you alright?"
"..Xiao..."
Your voice was lost. You felt your lips move but nothing seemed to come out as your eyes closed. One of your five senses, hearing, left your consciousness last. You heard Hutao call out for help to anyone that can help her carry you out to Bubu Pharmacy or back to the parlor. The terrified screams of the Funeral Director was the last thing you heard as you fell off your chair and onto the ground. Why did she sound so scared? She should be happy at the thought of a potential customer. Even as you were fainting, you still had a sense of humor.

Everything around Xiao seemed to darken. Something felt off all of a sudden. The air around him stiffened then turned sour. Before he could jump to any conclusions, the sound of your voice made its way to him in the form of a whisper.
"(Y/n)..."
"I beg your pardon?"
"Forgive me Rex Lapis. I need to go."
Xiao disappeared before the Consultant could say anything in return. His eyes flickered, having a feeling of what Xiao was up to. The only thing he pondered over was why? Why did Xiao run off in such an abrupt fashion? What makes this person so important that Xiao would leave in the middle of a conversation with the Geo Archon? A mini ray of light flickered across Zhongli's eyes, he swiftly turned around and stared at where Xiao once stood. He balled his hands into fists and clenched them tightly. With you being able to roam ever so freely, that means that the Cryo Archon has failed at keeping you at bay. How could he not put two and two together?
You two have met..
You and Xiao.
It's been five hundred years since the Cataclysm.
Five hundred years since you and Xiao have made that promise to each other.
A promise that could lead to another war.
What kind of war? Zhongli doesn't know nor does he want to. Something unlike the Archon War or the Cataclysm. No. A war much greater. A war that can destroy, not one, but all of the seven nations that make up this world. Of course once you were able to come back to the world of Teyvat, you would see Xiao first. He swore he had more time, but looking back at it now, all he remembers was how he brushed it off and the situation stayed at the back of his mind for many years. He stood there for a few seconds, pondering over as to why.
