Deadly Foe (part 2)

The heavy shaking stirs the sand and causes it to collapse in on itself. It reacts like quick sand drawing Ren and I into the it. The sand starts to fall, bringing us with it into the sandy trenches. Many worms similar to the giant one dig through the sand. Me and Ren climb out of the collapsed sand. We look up at the hole. Ren throws a large rope, but it gets intercepted by the giant worm. It digs through the caverns it created, ruining the ground even further. Ren shoves a torch in the ground to light the cave up revealing tens of the worms. They swarm us attacking at full force, not giving us a break between attacks. We fend them off when the giant worm resurfaces once more. As it digs, sand drops from the top of the cavern in large, heavy clumps. The absence of space keeps us from getting far from the giant worm. We try to fight back but are overwhelmed by the amount of worms attacking us. I try using my staff again but fail. "Give that here!" Ren shouts. As I toss the staff to him, he uses it to destroy most of the smaller worms. The large worm starts to resurface more, weaving through the cavern. We strike it with all our might. I put a glowing arrow that I found in one of the chests. I believe Andrew called it a jesters arrow. As I fire it, it flies perfectly strait, piercing the entire worm. "What was that?!" Ren shouts surprised. I quickly grab another one of the jesters arrows. Shooting more at the giant worm. It lets out a loud roar, before many more of the smaller worms resurface. My jesters arrows make quick work of the killing then each in about 3 shots. Ren uses my staff to shoot at the giant worm, injuring it greatly. The giant worm, starts bashing its head across the cavern, causing it to create. "If we don't get out soon, we'll be one with the ground." I shout. Ren hears me and throws a rope at the top of the hole. As we climb the ladder, sand falls on the giant worm, seemingly crushing it. Ren and I start sprinting trying to get out of the desert. The ground shaking beneath us as the giant worm chases us. We run faster as the sand keeps collapsing closer to us. The giant worm leaps into the air and starts falling in our direction. Sand flies in our direction, cutting through our skin like tasers. In the rush I grab my bow, and grab a jesters arrow. As I draw the bow back, I aim unable to see. "Shoot!" Ren shouts. I let go of the string, the jesters arrow pierces the lower jaw of the worm, cutting the worm in half. As it lands to the ground it lies still. I run up to the body, and find small shiny white pieces of something, underneath its exoskeleton, along with starfish, shells and other things. Ren and I quickly run out of the desert afterwords and quickly make it home, not wanting to fight anything else. "What are these." I ask Andrew, pointing at the white shiny things. "They are called pearl shards." Andrew replies. "They can be used to make weapons and armors. I thank him and head off to my house, and get ready for a long rest.
